Anyone who thought a GOLD foiled deck wasn't going to happen when they started the LOTR series is crazy. But like Brad said, at least it will be comparatively cheep.

I am with vasta41 on this. If I could have got a single gold deck for less than $35, I would probably pull the trigger. I don't need two or more of the green decks. Sad pass for me.

I think that is a fairly safe assumption, but I am not sure.

As for the price I was willing to go to. I thought they were gilded. Okay, knock my max to like $25 shipped.

Not finding it listed on the site. Is there a special link, or did they simply run out? While I'm not likely to purchase at that price, I'd still like to see the product page....

I disagree. Their past gold foil decks, specifically Star Wars, were printed by EPCC. So I would assume these are as well.

I looked at the photos (thanks, bdawg), and there is no way that fine detail was managed by Metalluxe. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some Metalluxe, but it simply can't handle such thin lines. I can't tell just from photos if it's EPCC, but that's a better bet than USPCC.

*sigh* this is the moment when Theory11 finally disappoints me by LOT - the day when they decide to have the Gold variant of LOTR locked behind an overpriced set.
Imagine the anger of those who already copped the normal edition after they learned about today's release.

I'll never be a fan of those default Cantrell faces. I'm happy to see him deviate from that kind of look in his CAP series.
