I, uh... haven't read that thread. Maybe I'll just stay here with the ghost hugs...

I think what maybe set off a lot of this is that the purple Monarchs came out very recently and this was pretty hot on its heels. We haven't seen new colors of Monarchs drop this fast before, as far as I know.

I would like to know

1) What the production run was and

2) How many they sold and how many they held onto for future distribution.

My personal opinion is that if you are going to state that something is a limited edition you should define it further with the number of decks. Just my own personal and incredibly biased opinion.

Full disclosure: I have quite a few of the Monarchs in my collection and of course I bought the Mandarins because reasons.

I couldn't care less about how "limited" it is. I just need to find a couple at reasonable prices (hopefully this weekend).

It shows $75 because the seller updated the price after the first deck was sold, which was at $25, check the listing click on the "1 sold" you'll see the actual price it went for...

Got mine today, Kinda disappointed but then again it's a $10 deck. I think I was just spoiled due to my first Tx11 deck being GA. Don't get me wrong the Yellow tuck is very pretty but the deck feels meh.

Well, if someone is silly enough to pay 7x the price because of the word limited, I find it pretty amusing. Even if it were a low production run.

I hate to break it to you, but unless a deck is being infinitely produced, every deck is limited. Whether there are 5 made or 5 million. There are not enough resources in the universe to produce and unlimited run, therefore all decks are limited.

Have fun paying multitudes above what something is worth because it is "limited"

I believe limited means the deck won't get reprinted after their initial stock right?

Yup, pretty much. Limited simply means they print X amount of decks and then stop doing so. It does not quantify anything in special. Just like STL wrote, 5 of 5 is limited and 1,000,000 of 1,000,000 is limited as well. I love when folks use the term super limited :D .

Yeah, limited is used in many ways. To denote it won't be printed again. To say that there are low quantities made. Some to mean both.

You'll see one campaign that makes 3000 of the standard version and 1000 as a limited version even though neither will be printed again, only one is called limited. Another deck will be "very limited" at 3500 ever produced.

All in all it is a keyword used for marketing. So people think they will need to rush to get one or to charge more.

In the end, it is my opinion that this only helps one type of person, the reseller. It gives them more fuel to over charge on the aftermarket and because it is "limited" and many people will pay it. Regardless of how many were actually produced.

My point was every single deck ever made it by the definition of limited, limited.

Interesting discussion.

So...for all intents and purposes Rider back bikes are unlimited and priced accordingly.

BTW...kinda bad luck that T11 does a deck celebrating the Chinese new year when China has this big virus thing going on.

Why is it bad luck? The Coronavirus doesn't nullify the importance of the Lunar New Year to the Chinese people (which is what the deck is honoring).

That would be my advise. There're tons out there, no need to feed scalpers. Let the dust settle and wait for a good deal on them.

I also missed the sale. but I've found an EU site that sells them at a somewhat reasonable price (£14,-) for europeans. If someone else finds a place that sells them cheaper (preferably EU, cuz otherwise I pay much more in shipping), please let me know. Definitively getting some, the colour looks amazing!

I bought this deck immediately. I LOVE the bright color scheme and the red foil. My favorite T11 decks have been their Howlers and JAQKs (and Titanium for good old standards). I find my blue monarchs kinda boring with the blue too dark. These backs here have a nice bright yellow with red details. I think they did a great job!

These decks were not available at trade rates so stores paid the same rates as everyone else. With shipping and import taxes added. It is somewhat reasonable :D.

I ain't complaining about the price :) (even though it is almost a 100% mark-up) . A (probably limited) run that is no longer sold, but can now be easily bought without customs getting in the way? That price is justified in my opinion, especially since I can pick up some other non-T11 decks at the same time.
