Congrats to you Dave. With all of the questions, I didn't think the Club spots would sell out that quickly. Nice job.

Of course it would!I certainly don't understand it, but you make something limited and promise low serial numbers and people lose their damn minds! It's all lost on me, but some people dig it.

Wow what the... some guy that said he missed getting #1 tier ended up backing out of the campaign because the guy that got #1 tier wouldn't give up the #1 numbered seal... lol.. are numbers really that important??

I saw that. Apparently the guy that wanted the number 1 spot has the number 1 Planets LE set. Looks like if he couldn't get #1 he didn't want anything at all.irtjames14 wrote:Wow what the... some guy that said he missed getting #1 tier ended up backing out of the campaign because the guy that got #1 tier wouldn't give up the #1 numbered seal... lol.. are numbers really that important??

Ditto! I'm shocked, but good for him that it's obviously got so much interest, hopefully it means a strong foundation for more of this series of decks.Pablo393 wrote:I didn't think the Club spots would sell out that quickly.

All this club stuff aside, can we talk about how one purchases an LE deck, or add ons in general? $19 for single standard deck is pricey. But, that’s just me. Are LE’s not available to purchase outside of the Club of 100?

Well that is the whole point of the Club. If you are not a member, you do not get an LE deck. They are only making 100 LE decks.Brendt00 wrote:All this club stuff aside, can we talk about how one purchases an LE deck, or add ons in general? $19 for single standard deck is pricey. Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck (wap)
Missed the print run on the KS page. I am a fan of the cards themselves, and appreciate the exclusivity of the LE to a certain extent. But, the model makes using KS a moot point as others have said. The inflated price of the STD seems to thumb it’s nose at everyone else who is not Clubified.kem-collector wrote:Well that is the whole point of the Club. Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
I think this campaign is meant to be a part of Kickstarter's MAKE 100 program, which is to make a project which aims to make only 100 of something. That would explain why there are only 100 of these decks.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Well it's funded/ ended now. Was about to switch to the club membership too... Anyone know why club was so expensive? The price,$125, for 4 decks, 2 Standard 2 Limited and a coin, doesn't seem worth it considering EB 3 decks was $49.

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
Well, you couldn't switch to the Club Membership - there are only 100 of them. And you can only get the LE decks with the club membership. Additionally, when the next in this series comes out, those that purchased the club membership can immediately sign up again to get the same number. Only if someone drops out will it be made available through auction/KS.OVSUB wrote:Well it's funded/ ended now. Was about to switch to the club membership too... Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
So it's expensive due to the "rarity". huh. I was mentioning switching to club because 5+ people dropped their club tiers.kem-collector wrote:Well, you couldn't switch to the Club Membership - there are only 100 of them. Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
Surveys sent and i'm very confused now.
I backed this project with the membership tier which means i get 2 Standard and 2 White (LE) decks + a coin for 125 $ (NO shipping included)
-side note: Membership includes 1 white deck numberd from 2-100, and low numbers on standard decks!
Now i can add as many white "Proof" decks with number 0 as i want for 19 $ each, and standards for 12 $.
So the 4 decks according to the add-on option in Backerkit are worth 62$ (if you ignore the numberings for the decks)
And what about this ? Limited to 100 ????

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
He finally messaged me back, though I decided not to upgrade since I have no idea what the LE deck design looks like other than the tuck, also surveys were a confusing mess. Also if the system of this is so broken and they print more than 100 of the LE, PM me I'll be willing to buy a LE deck off someone if they did mess up and print many more than 100 LE, though hopefully at a reasonable price.

Same with the Stories deck, people begging for an update. Something isn't right.

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
I've given myself 2 months without another update before I'll order a chargeback. It's fine if you don't push out updates every day, but like once a month should be doable, even if it is just a small update like "hi, everything is coming along as planned, hope to give you more info soon". That at least shows you that the creator hasn't just taken the money and ran.
Now I know he also runs vanda cards, which I have used before, so it is not that he has no experience from before. Just not sure what is happening this time around.

Exactly, that's why I'm going to wait a while before going to a charge-back.

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
So many red flags for me from the start with the club system, yet a lot has decided to go with it... Vanda in general has made some questionable business decisions over the past year, including the failure of the Cardistry Club subscription program. Let's just see how long the sketchy goes on...

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
In most of Vanda's successful decks, Dave outsources the design to a designer, such as the Planet series, Stories series, and this. Of course Dave also does some artwork himself but the Cardistry Club series, for example, was never really well received. Vanda is therefore more like a hybrid between creator and producer while leaning more to the later (like Riffle Shuffle). So unlike some big name designers around here whose business represent entirely themselves, Vanda's business model doesn't 100% reflect/represent the producer's own creation, and therefore the dedication level may vary (dedication in the sense that includes honesty).EvilDuncan wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 10:19 am Never thought we'd see something like this coming from someone I considered to be a reputable creator.
If not to be so skeptical about how things are looking, maybe it's due to Vanda creating a club system so complex and messy that now there's no way to untie all the mess, so no response before they figure something out.

Re: NOW LIVE: Vanda Centurion Club + Centurio Deck
I did not know this. I admit I also did not find the cardistry decks to be very appealing, but I backed Planets, Stories and this. Hopefully they can get everything sorted out. I would like to at least hear something from them.Decknowledgy wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 11:20 am In most of Vanda's successful decks, Dave outsources the design to a designer, such as the Planet series, Stories series, and this.
