I remember a show that ran a good while back called something like Straight or Gay (not sure) where a bunch of men would try to woo a female bachelor, but some of them were gay. If she ended up choosing someone who was gay, he'd get all the prize money.

That sounds just awful. Who's gonna watch it? The small percentage of gay men? Not a big seller, I'd imagine.
They'd be better off making a show about crab people.
Nah, gay men would flock to this show. The first season would be that "this is a landmark" type of phenomenon. Also, you think women don't like to watch scenes of two ripped handsome young guys making out?

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

What I meant was, "the small percentage of men who are gay?" And believe me, most gay men are not ripped or handsome... I mean, guess they could only cast said men.

am I the only one intrigued by the idea of gay crab people?? With or without prawn / mussels, I'd be totally crabtivated - sure, it might cause some waves, but I can imaging others would also clamor at the opportunity to watch gay crab people lmao

No politics, please, Roope.
Politics and religion are 2 subjects that are just awful to discuss.
Maybe political opinions (RE: laws/rules) can be discussed with civility, but Trump is probably the most polarizing President in American history, and people tend to just get ugly when talking about him.

Hum, for the record I am distantly related to Abe, so no bad things about him. Also have a newspaper with the Gettysburg address. Also a newspaper the day before with his speech at a dinner before the address, which was even shorter than the Gettysburg address. Abe paid for his polarization. Hope that doesn't happen again.

Finally saw Solo yesterday. It was pretty damn bad. I didn't like that much of either Rogue One or Solo, although I quite enjoyed The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Star Wars is getting ruined by the toxic fanbase, who seem to prefer the god awful prequels over the rather well made new trilogy.

You're just bitter for the fact that Norway should be a strong ice hockey nation like Sweden, Finland and Russia but pales in comparisons to all of them. Instead you are strong in such an interesting sport like skiing

Well, "skiing" involves plenty of different sports, and we effin' rule the winter Olympics. The US has, what, well over 300 million people, and they placed 4th in the 2018 medal rankings. We're at the top with a measly 5 million. Kinda like how Iceland's soccer team does incredibly well considering they're a mere 350,000.
Oh, and you'll have to scroll down a bit to find Finland on that list
Well it's still boring, all of the different variants And hey, Finland is number 1 in Gold medals per capita on all the summer games.
As for football, let's not go there, that one is forever the disgrace of Finnish sports. Like how can freaking Iceland go to both the Euros and the Worlds with the same population as a city of Tampere and Finland can never make it with a 5,6 million population. The answer is doing the grass roots operations properly for decades I guess...

The Force Awakens is great and The Last Jedi is pure garbage.
Rogue One was okay, but I haven't/won't see Solo (I won't pay a single cent to see it).

Look, I'm as old school as they come. Saw the original Star Wars as a kid in the Drive-In. Can you imagine? A Drive-in!
Loved the original series. And, as truly awful as the prequels were, watched them over and over again anyway. The animated Clone Wars movie that eventually lead to the development of the Clone Wars tv series was surprisingly acceptable, and the tv series itself succeeded at doing things that the prequels failed to do. (I haven't seen Rebels yet, but I hope to, eventually.) Enjoyed the hell out of Force Awakens and I gotta say, Last Jedi has some amazing set pieces. I wish they had done some things differently/better, but in the end, it will be judged on the basis of how Ep 9 does. Ep 9 doesn't even have to be great, it just has to tell a story that redeems the events of Last Jedi. Case in point: Empire Strikes Back was similarly a difficult movie to receive, until Return of the Jedi (which, itself, was *not* great) so redeemed Empire that to this day, Empire is revered as the high water mark of the series. So, I don't know. Last Jedi may similarly be redeemed, but also, maybe not.
All that said, I found Rogue One to be an entirely enjoyable movie and Solo wasn't bad, either. Both had the "right" endings for the stories they were telling, and if they film the follow-up movies to Solo that they had originally intended, I'll be there for those, too, because the character arcs they have set in motion look like a lot of fun. That said, young Lando is outstanding, Khaleesi is always charming, and the chemistry between Han and his wookie is kinda awesome.

There. I said it. Solo isn't that bad.
Putting on my flame-resistant suit....
The Last Jedi is so bad that Lucasfilm is retconning it in the comic books (which are canon). JJ Abrams has also been given the "green light", to fix as much of the BS that Rian Johnson fed us, "as necessary" to make Episode IX follow in the footsteps of The Force Awakens and make the trilogy cohesive as a whole.
The fact that I can watch The Phantom Menace and not be pissed off by Jar Jar Binks' existence says all that needs to be said about The Last Jedi's impact on the Star Wars universe.
I will continue to support Star Wars (RE: the off-shoot type movies and anything non-Episode-essential) IF, and only IF, Abrams can save this universe. If Episode IX blows (I find it very unlikely with JJ but I'm going to be as skeptical as ever about this movie up until I see it) then I may never watch Star Wars ever again.
