Hey Sergio

Yes, a few people have mentioned to us. It's in hand. It was caused by a combination of factors, mainly that we used two sheets to make one full deck, as we had done with the Vertex Deck. Next time we're using their machine that has a wider foiling module and ordering new black core paper, so we will be able to print and stamp everything on one sheet from now, as with normal decks.

As required improvements, there's that and there's also the fact that the UV foil on cards (and tuck) doesn't closely enough match the metal case (caused by picking the metal box color over the foil color first - we found out it MUST be the other way around).

Learning all the time on all processes.

Cheers

Thank you Filipe for the clear explanation.

In terms of "Next time," do you include the current London Diffractor?

Finally got these, and I have to say I'm kind of underwhelmed with the diffraction itself. It just doesn't pop that well, and is very... "angle of light"-dependent. By itself, I'd pick a foiled deck over a diffractor deck any day of the week. Of course, there's no reason why you can't use both at the same time, but even then diffraction is much more subtle and just isn't that noticable.

Mr. VXD, has there been, or will there be, any improvements on the diffraction itself?

It's 100% about the lighting conditions! It looks like nothing special when the surrounding lighting is up (i.e in the surrounding room) and if you have diffuse, bad lighting (examples being office lighting or strip lights).

But, if you look at them under one halogen spotlight or other bright light, it's a very different story. The photos and videos we take don't tell lies, they are never doctored, ever....it's all about the lighting. Hence the little card we put in the package we send out to every backer too, about the best viewing conditions ;)

Fortunately our ultimate target space for Diffractors is casinos, where they always have direct, bright lighting (nearly always spots) on the gaming tables.

And yes, we have foil as well you know!...and other flashy stuff (if you get the metal cases).

But also, I've mentioned on many posts that the effect is subtle and actually that will, in the long run, prove to be a plus, especially where we're heading with it.

Regards

Example here. This guy selling on eBay (the only decks available to buy on eBay currently) gets the angles and the lighting and has actually presented them pretty well...cudos to him. Presentation is difficult with Diffractors, the effect is 'subtle'. Yes, holographics are invisible at many angles...that's holographics for you.

I just saw these on Murphy's. Two Vegas Diffractor decks in regular tucks. Pictures of both so you can see the difference in the card backs foiling. These are fairly expensive but rather limited at 499 copies of either deck.

Just for reference, they were $47 as an add-on, but that included shipping. These also have hot foil. I liked the cards.

I'm stiull waiting for my order when they had the special on their website. They stated June for shipping due to COVID, which is completely understandable, but my order still hasn't shipped and there's been no follow-up.

Cards look nice but not sure I want to support them. Haven't forgotten the public legal threats

Each and every one of us have a bad day now and again. (some folks more than others) It's nice to remember everyone is human. Personally, I'm fine with overlooking a few misplaced ideas and assumptions posted on a forum. I think the bigger factors are folks are still awaiting some decks right? It's been a little bit now and I'm hoping they get that sorted out soon. Moving product is I guess a sign in the right direction. I don't know.

I am not sure if I bought them during the sale, but I did get notice that a package was shipped from them a few days ago. It was the metal black deck from the original Kickstarter. That will complete my set of their decks, so I am excited to have a complete set. Hopefully, others are being shipped out now as well.

Me too... Back in mid July they said issues with shipping due to covid... Getting worried we are getting ripped off...

I am still waiting on mine. The tracking was odd, it went from DHL at I assume the factory to Frankfurt I think and then to USPS, so I am guessing it was a distribution center used to get them shipped off whereever. That was back like on August 8. I can't see anything on USPS tracking. Hopefully they are already on their way, but who knows with all of the shipping delays caused by Covid. I am sure they will come. Glad they have started arriving. My black sets will complete my collection finally. I am really looking forward to what Lotrek will cook up for Monte Carlo.

I ordered 6 metal diffractor sets during the Las Vegas kickstarter. That was a long time ago. They delivered one and then ran into production problems. Just last month I finally asked for status and they told me it might just be better to offer a refund. I quickly took it as it was quite a large sum of money. They refunded me and all is well. They were gracious and apologetic and in the end I guess all is well. I did see that one of those sets just sold for $300+ on ebay, so maybe I should have been more patient. Oh well, better safe than sorry sometimes.

My two original black VXD decks arrived. Also included was a Gold Las Vegas vertex deck that was from a Caroline Ravn giveaway. All decks arrived safe and sound. I really like the aluminum cases. They are definitely unique. My VXD set is complete now.
