T11 said they sold half of their supply in the first 30 minutes. Now, 7 hours later, they seem to still have plenty. Maybe they meant half the supply in one room?

Rare is a superficial word for these major brands, yet Tavern and Gold Artisans were definitely rare. I like the color scheme (red on yellow), therefore I get, not because of its marketed rarity.

I'm in. There aren't enough yellow decks out there. I could see making this any everyday carry.

Was definitely terrified by the ebay listings. Made me think they were sold out already

I have one blue and one green in my play pile and that's enough for me.

I do like the yellow though.

I quite like the yellow. At least they dropped them at the normal price.

I have never really bought into Monarchs, so I'm immune to the fatigue. But I get it. I don't want to see a pastel one drop in a couple months for Easter

I'm not understanding all the grumbling and comments over a new color of Monarchs. They are not pumping out a new color every 3 months like a lot of other companies are. Monarchs debuted in 2011 and currently at 10 colors.

Current selection of Monarchs (including the super-rare ones): 13 (10 colors)

Current selection of NOCs: 78

TBH, when have there been enough yellow/orange decks? Not to speak against those who have the fatigue, but in terms of T11, their decks have been 70-80% dark themed with the exception of few white editions. Besides white, there's almost no warm colors in the brand, so that alone is enough for me to see this edition as a tiny thinking-out-of-the-box. ;)

Monarchs still have a long way to go to catch up to NOC status. Anyone want light blue & pink Summer Monarchs!?

Different strokes for different folks. I simply don't care for Monarchs. They are the same to me like rider backs or circle backs - absolute fine classics. Nothing bad about them, I'm simply not buying them, because other stuff is more interesting for me, not because there is something wrong with Monarchs. Unless they come up with something really special, like Eleven Madison with all the faces switched for restaurant ingredients, or a colour that really catches my attention, I doubt that I'll ever have an edition of Monarchs.

I figured it out. I think the Monarch tucks are too plain... Maybe if this tuck had some red outlines like how the card backs are, it'll be more appealing than how it looks.

When ya'll get the deck, would the tuck orange and the backs are yellow that both of them doesn't match?

I get the chance to acquired one, and it is on it's way to me - as it is just shipped today.
TFW the shipping cost is triple times more than the playing cards price T.T (I have to snuck in another deck, which is Derren Brown)

Well, thing is, I like the color variations, great for photos compisition. Now that this Mandarin version is out, imagine of gathering it together with the Red, Green, Blue, and Purple

And yeah, I get infected by Monarchs because Now You See Me.... guilty, because I love magic.
PS: I am hoping they released another NYSM special when the third movie installment comes out
PPS: Imagine what it's gotta be if Now You See Me is using USPCC's Bicycle, instead of Theory11's Monarchs?

The colour is more likely to be that of an orange if they did their research. Lunar New Year is celebrated by more than just the Chinese. Also the reasoning of orange would be because it is a symbol of wealth to come/ good fortune to those around citric fruits.

I won't have Monarch fatigue since these are my first Monarchs :D , half the reason for me getting them is the advertising the other half is because the colour scheme looks better than the normal Monarchs. Plus it's a brighter colour than the general Monarchs collection not including the White Monarchs and their reprints.

I would really laugh so hard if Theory11 decides to complete the color swatch of Monarchs, so it makes a rainbow when put side by side XD

Is T11 really dickish like that? Faking scarcity to sell more? If that's the case I think I might not buy much or their cards then.

They are not typically perpetrators of this type of behavior. But I'm of the mindset that the "devil's in the details." If they (or any of the other "big" companies) say something like, "never to be sold again!" then I put the emphasis on the word "sold" since that doesn't mean they can't give it away later if you spend $50 (or some other type of promotion). That seems to bother most here but not me, really. Blatant lies are another thing but like I said, I don't recall T11 ever doing that.

I just don't like that they use the word "limited" without ever defining what that means. You can limit a deck to 20,000 decks printed and it can be limited, but that is not really limited. I understand that they have decks that are always in print and always available and so those are not considered limited, but it's just the wording that bothers me.

I like Monarchs. I like this color. I own the Gold and now the Mandarin, but I don't own the other colors. It's whatever.

Is everyone else in here complaining about this new Monarch deck reading some blog or newsfeed that I don't know about? TXI released a new Monarch deck and now everyone is crying/hating/trashing TXI? I'm no TXI fanboy, but it sounds like a lot of people are talking out of their ass on "what may happen" or "what this word may mean".

A. I don't see any straight up crying/hating/trashing, that's a bit hyperbolic. Speculation, sure.

B. It's happened enough times before for many to be wary of this. I'm pretty sure TXI haven't printed a deck in quantities less than 2k or maybe even 5k since the White Cents, the number of which they did disclose at the time. If these are truly limited, why not state how many (few) were printed?

What he said, most of us are just doubting the "rarity" of the decks esp since lots of decks on their site are labeled or described as "limited edition" while they end up continuously trickling out after they are "sold out."

Ah well - maybe it is just this particular Topic on the UC. I like to look at the new decks coming out but here lately there has been so much negativity and complaining that maybe it is just wearing me down. Continue on with your rabid speculation and arguments.

Who's arguing? It's mostly been people talking about TX11 recolouring decks. I like this deck and am waiting for 3 decks to arrive but for the most part I've just been asking about how often the recolour decks since I'm new to deck collecting and it seems like they have multiple monarch colours and they claim this New Years one is limited. But sure I guess you can take the bad faith approach to an otherwise cordial discussion.
