I'm sure the Oath GoG looks stunning but I haven't opened it. GoB either. :D

I haven't opened a GoG either, but I do have a few of the cards he sold to enjoy. Lotrek probably put something funny inside my GoG that I will never know unless I am brave enough to to tear into it. It will be a mystery for someone else.

That will only be considered if the decks don’t sell out by campaigns end. I want to give everyone a chance to get a first one before anyone can add a second.

So for now it's $155 + $45 = $200 for brick tier + Treasure deck and $415 (well $450 with EU firendly shipping) for Complete Tempest.
2 decks to go and still $215 difference. I'm having some second thoughts of switching to brick tier before monday. :|

I completely understand if you feel the value isn't there. Here is a list of expected unlocks.

The Dynastinae (limited to 777) printed by Lotrek price will be set at $90
The Bottle Edition (limited to 200) printed by Lotrek price will be set at $125
The Metal Card price will be set at $40
The Gaff pack will be set at $15
And Potentially more unlocks as we move forward.

$155 + $45 + $90 + $125 + $40 + $15 = $460 vs. $415 for the tier. 10% savings and the GUARANTEE that premium tier members will receive the limited items.

I can also tell you that the Dynastinae is being printed on a very special stock. The tuck case will likely feature a fold out design. I myself am somewhat in the dark as to what to expect. I know the basics of the design but I will be unboxing a Dynastinae on stream during the campaign and then opening the tiers at that time. Only Lotrek knows right now what it will look like.

The Bottle edition is a unique deck as well featuring some of the features of the Dynastinae but also including other modifications. It's an ultra rare version. I will give the option to those who buy the Bottle Edition if they want their's bottled or unbottled. THe bottled versions will include a seal and wax seal on the cork. The unbottle version will have the ribbon seal and wax seal on the box itself. The price will be the same regardless of option chosen.

Very excited about this as well! No hesitation on keeping the complete tempest pledge now. Although I don't mind the bottle, I am more inclined to just getting the deck with the ribbon and seal as it fits my collecting style better.

Still on the fence but I'm glad that the bottle is optional now. I'd switch to brick for sure if it wasn't.

Every gilded deck I've ever owned has not held up to handling. That smooth, unbroken sheen that's displayed on the side of the deck when it comes out of the box becomes segmented and uneven after just a few shuffles. Additionally, the deck becomes clumpy. Is it just me, or maybe the specific gilded decks that I own and have handled? Or is that the nature of gilded decks?

For this reason, I don't really understand gilding. If taking them out and handling them breaks that golden illusion and conversely, keeping them in the box hides the gilding, I wonder what the point is. Curious to see if anyone has had different experience with shiny edges.

That sad part is, I think this Treasure edition is SUPER nice. The backs are, like everyone seems to be remarking, very reminiscent of the Oath Standards GoG and are appropriately attuned to what I'd imagine the card equivalent of sunken treasure looks like.

Thoughts?

The gilded decks from Cartamundi are all spectacular handling. I have a set of heavily used Dynastinae Parlours sitting on my desk in front of me that handle beautifully and still look amazing. The Butterfly decks from Ondrej also handle amazingly.

I can confirm that. I received Butterflies just this week and they handle well! I was sceptical too but you can do anything with them, including perfect faros.

I can go along but I do hope you are giving complete tempest premium tier first dibs for these decks. If I recall correctly early brick backer was $140 so the “savings” aren’t as much as you suggested.

PiazzaDelivery wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2020 7:53 pmI don't really understand gilding.
Gilding is meant to make the deck (and books for that matter) last longer; to make the edges protected against grease, grim and humidity. Handling and looks is just secondary for a gilded deck.
That said, the few USPCC gilded decks I have, don't handle far worse than ungilded decks.
I've yet to come across a gilded deck that is gilded by the supplier from Cartamundi but heard only good stuff about them as well. Same goes for Uusi's hand gilded decks.

Honest question: do I realistically have any chance at possibly adding this deck if you release at 4am on a Tuesday?

Honest question: do I realistically have any chance at possibly adding this deck if you release at 4am on a Tuesday?
That is easy to answer. Currently, TGW is limiting the Treasured deck to one per backer. As there are 1000 decks and less than 1000 backers right now, it is easy to say that every backer now that wants one can get one of these decks. 8-) I don't think the plan was for this to be hard to get, just an exclusive Kickstarter deck. Of course The Great Wylenti might land ashore later and release his Comstock load deck with silver gilding....

My only knock on this deck is that it is still just a Cardamundi printed deck. It still isn't a Lotrek printed wonder.

It will still be on the par of the original Parlour Dynastinae. So expect premium luxury.

And don’t worry. The Lotrek decks are coming!

Treasure Edition looks like Oath G.O.G. and gilded Charmers had a baby.

Well 4 decks down, 2 more to go!

The comments are kickstarter are full of confused people (as in any campaign). Didn't Kickstarter add a way to do add-ons recently? How come you didn't use that? Just wondering
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):

-2018 NPCCD: Green Pawn & Missing Island Prototypes

That add-on feature is still being tested by Kickstarter and not rolled out to everyone. It is on an invite basis , and highly likely, not available for this campaign.

With each subsequent stretch goal, this campaign will reach it's next. 500% unlocked Treasured and after, if I'm not mistaken, a single hour of it becoming available, TotT reached 600% funding. Time to unveil the next one, Omar, Lotrek :)

I'll gladly take the Lotrek-made Dynastinae, or a custom half-brick box, or a custom Carat Case, or a branded cut card, which I can't believe isn't a mainstay as an add-on in custom card campaigns. Poker chips are habitual, why not a cut card?

Anyway, that's aside from the point, which is to say that the business model of this campaign is rather clever. As opposed to the usual fatigue/picking and choosing that comes with 12 variations:
"No reason to fret, it's only 2 dec-"
300%
"Say hello to MIDNIGHT
-OMG this is SO nice gimme"
500%
"GoG, Lotrek signed TREASURED, limited to 1000!
-OMG this is SO nice gimme"
600%
-
-
-
-
-"

I think we can all fill in the blanks. Good job boys. I've flip-flopped on this campaign roughly 5 times, but I'm firmly in the "enthusiast backer" category now.

I think we can all fill in the blanks. Good job boys. I've flip-flopped on this campaign roughly 5 times, but I'm firmly in the "enthusiast backer" category now.
Welcome aboard! I will say that these campaigns are a tremendous feat for us. Eventhough this is my second endeavor and I've learned quite a bit there's a level of complexity that really gets ratcheted up when you have more backers and funding... it really is mo' money mo' problems. Granted good problems to have. At the end of the day I'm a collector too. And when I think about what rewards backers want I always think about what I would want. That applies to the artists I've worked with, and the design choices and the campaign development. I'm committed to working hard to make sure the when people think of TGW they don't necessarily think of a youtube review channel... but rather a place for finely curated products and opinions.

I remember one time when I was throwing out ideas about working with artists I mentioned in passing that I'd love to commission UUSI to work on a deck with the TGW branding. And sometime later once I'd dropped out of the conversation I came back to lurk and found a reply by someone questioning what UUSI would need with me. What could I possibly bring to the table? That stuck with me. I hope I can have a resounding answer for that one day in the not too distant future.
