Thanks for the update.

I didn't realize that there has to be a certain order for the printing/cutting process. I thought as long as the production line is able to see the start/end of the single decks it doesn't matter how the uncut looks like. A bit of a shame, since I really liked the layout you rendered in the campaign.

On another note, how much for the booklet?

Yep! Also depends massively on the printer. For example Cartamundi's are like the image above, but you'll see some are 7 x 8 cards, presumably USPCC.

€6 as a standard add-on but backers #001-215 can have it for free if their pledge is €35 or higher. If not, they can add-on as normal or upgrade their pledge to a higher tier and have it included for free :)

So for the first 215 backers it isn't added automatiocally, we have to claim/add it in the survey after the campaign?

It's automatic so long as your pledge level is €35 or above :)

Jocu wrote:Hi guys! A quick update.

We should hopefully have internet back today after moving house so fingers crossed we can be more active again for our final 10 days.

We managed to reach 125% - amazing! So we're now offering a printed booklet to go with the deck. I'm confident that the amount of detail we'll share in this with regards to the elements of the design of each card will surprise many people with its level of detail. We really put a huge amount of thought into everything from the characters and the items around them to the colour palettes used. There are even stylistic differences between the red and black suits based on two different art periods so if you're into it, it'll be a really nice read.

It'll also naturally include a longer version of the Fillide tale and some historical context for it, as well as it's continued existence today in Agrigento with the Festa del Mandorlo.

Now - Uncut Sheets

It turns out that the order of the cards is not what we expected, and instead goes downwards vertically rather than horizontally. Alessandra is of the opinion that this won't be as aesthetically pleasing, and I agree.

The question is, and I realise this may be blasphemy, do we have the decks arrive in a somewhat random order to enable a really nicely balanced Uncut sheet, or do we ensure that the decks are in a 'new deck' order?

On the one hand, I shuffle my decks immediately anyway after looking through the artwork. And the people most likely to be picky are the guys who don't even open the boxes :D

On the other hand, maybe there's a significance to 'new deck order' that I'm missing, and the cards may look a bit chaotic on opening. There are going to be around 300 customers of the decks, and only a handful of those for the sheets... so priority should probably go to the former.

Thoughts?
I think only magicians care about new deck order, so depends on who you're marketing to.

It seems being an early bird backer always bites me in the ass in some way.

Unless you are REALLY picky or doing a certain trick, It doesnt matter. The only other reason it would matter is if its a specific order like mnemonic. Having a different order and NOT doing it on purpose, makes the deck more unique. IMHO

What's your pledge level? I was hoping this would work for everyone...

Interesting views on deck order. Keep em coming!

Well it's time for one last push before we move onto the next phase. Thank you again to everyone for your support!

I've learnt some interesting things this campaign, many of which will help with the next one but will also help other creators. I'd love to share some of these observations if anyones interested, especially regarding trends and what's worked/not worked.

One interesting and surprising fact about the campaign is that we're running at around 12-15% cancellations on pledges. I don't know whether this is because some huge campaign have recently ended and people have noticed their credit card bills or whether it's normal. I'd read elsewhere that 10% is around the average.

They're pretty evenly spread throughout the campaign with a slight increase over the last two days. I guess it's also 'final decision time' for many people. Hell, I've pulled out of a couple of projects myself so I know there are plenty of reasons. Interesting though!

I can just tell you that this month was really harsh. Not only there was a Parlour and Luminosity campaigns on KS but lots of Jackson Robinson's moving sales as well. Also last blue Silks on Lotrek's website. Crazy month. Luckily there's still some reserve for Fillide so I'm definitely not gonna cancel. :)

Me too. Only over my cold dead body I would cancel that pledge!

A moment of silence for all the credit cards/wallets/bank accounts that had to suffer this hard these days...

I had 13.5-15% cancelations in five campaigns. I believe that 10% is the wrong value.

Great to know!

I'd be interested in sharing observations about pledge patterns etc with any creators after the campaign. It could be beneficial to share this kind of thing.

I love me some data, so I'd be happy to share and compare :D

Anyway, we're coming to a close and I'd like to one last time thank everyone for their pledges and shares, advice, tips and everything you've all done for the campaign. We've got a busy few weeks ahead but we can't wait to get the deck printed and we're excited to be working with some great fulfilment partners to make sure everything is timely and correct :)

Alessandra's also going to start working soon on our next project, and we'll be sharing details about this in a few weeks. But for now a little pause while we do the KS and fulfilment admin. Thank you!

Hey everyone!

For those not following Kickstarter updates, we are ALMOST there.

We had some issues getting the boxes exactly how we wanted, but the hard proofs we received a week or so ago look amazing even with a couple of (now fixed) issues.

We are expecting the cards to be printed by the end of the week and everything is then waiting on the boxes, packing and shipping to the states. The latter of these may be delayed a week by us as we endeavour to send all the rewards directly to Cartamundi to join the shipment to the states.

Still looking like October to be safe, but we will be updating everyone with images of the cards when they are finished and other things without spoiling any of the surprises.

In the meantime we're working on our next project which is progressing well. It's a MUCH bigger endeavour than we envisaged so we're going to ensure everything is in place before launching our promotional campaign. We won't be launching before Fillide has fulfilled, but you may see some teasers in the days after the decks have shipped to their fulfilment centre.

The next project is much more in depth in terms of the theme, and the companion booklet will be essential for those looking to get the most out of the deck. We've picked a theme which encompasses a lot of different ideas all drawn together with a fantastic character... I wish I could say more!

Needless to say we've learnt a lot, and the next campaign should be much more streamlined because of it. Can't wait to get these to you!

I’m not a backer of this project, though I would have been had I not been away from collecting for so long. But I really appreciate that as the creator you are updating this community directly for backers that may be more active here than on Kickstarter. You don’t have to take the extra time to, but it shows that you value the community that helped make this project successful. So thank you!

Thanks for the support guys!

I have to say, after browsing the 'new decks' forum for the first time in a while and seeing what's out there it seems awfully quiet on the custom deck front. I get the impression you guys are champing at the bit for something great and I really think our next project will deliver...

But first we have to get Fillide in your hands so you can see the amazing job Ale's done with the artwork and that Cartamundi and their printers have done with the cards and tucks. I'm confident that once you see these the next project will be a no-brainer :)

Projects sort of come in waves - right now we're waiting on delivery for projects from you, Lorenzo (Parlour), Lotrek (Fable), and Gio (Order). and montenzi is releasing UC2019, soon!! Gio's also got Idols ready to go after Order is delivered

The amount of quality decks being crowdfunded has been slimming as time goes on. That's what makes Fillide stand out. 1st-time creator with a very nice overall deck. Rare occurrence nowadays.

There will also be a 52+Joker release (apparently by Lotrek) and the usual October release from Alex Chin.

Hi guys!

So as we near fulfilment for Fillide, we have posted the back design of our next project over in the deck drafting board.

Please do head over and give us your feedback - it was really important for Fillide and community input will be crucial for this one too.

Here's the link!

Hey guys!

We're just a couple of weeks off the 'earliest' date given to us by Cartamundi for the decks to be ready, although the official date is still four weeks away.

In the meantime we've been doing test shoots for the cards (as we have received some samples having been printed a few weeks ago). We will be saving these for Instagram and promotional material but we were really happy with some of them and wanted to share them with you. Here's a taster of what the cards look like :)

At least a few of you have now received your decks. We sent 60 EU packages this morning and EU fulfilment will be completed on Monday.

Gambler's Warehouse received the US and International rewards earlier this week and are processing them for fulfilment as we speak.

For those of you receiving these early decks please do share feedback with us either here in the thread or via email. We'd love to hear from you!

Anthony

Scotland has received! Thanks Jocu~
I got the "The Gambler" tier but the fulfillment included some more goodies than I expected: booklet, leather book mark, Jocu pin! Extremely satisfied with what I've received, I'll try to snap some photos soon and share them here :)

I've received mine yesterday in Czech Republic and what a lovely package indeed! I've got the basic 4-deck tier and still got the booklet + bookmark + pin and decks themselves were wrapped in a nice paper wrap. It was a pleasure unpacking this one!

Looking forward to your next campaign, Jocu!
