Morning guys! So we’re at 90% - amazing and thank you again to everyone who’s got us this far.
We’re about to announce a couple of stretch goals and gofts as we approach our goal. Basically all the backers who pledge before our 10k goal will be treated as a special level of supporter and will recieve extras not available to the latecomers.
This’ll mean that there’ll be some nice ‘freebies’ thrown in with your pledges but these could get more significant as the campaign funds grow.
For now we have one or two ideas confirmed for everyone and a second idea restricted just to tiers above €35. More information coming in the next update but if you’re on the fence it’ll pay off to be part of those first wave who get us to the goal
Have a great day!

Glad that I pledged early.

Looks like this will be funded for sure. Well deserved.

So guys we've been thinking about these little rewards for the early backers. They'll be little things for now, just small gifts that we can add to the reward packages as an extra 'thank you'. The larger pledges will get something a bit more substantial, which will be announced soon.
I've been thinking though, as a couple of people have asked about print runs and limited editions and so on, if there's something we can do to make the decks more 'unique' without setting up a separate print run.
So, for example, it's not feasible for us to print a new edition nor would we want to overstretch ourselves on this campaign. But perhaps we could do something with a unique seal/bottom seal or similar that would differentiate one of each of the first 200 backers' decks from the rest of the print run.
I thought it could be a nice touch if done well - everyone who backed to get us to the 10k getting a unique marker that distinguishes the deck from those that we will sell after the campaign.
Thoughts on this?

I think that would be difficult to fulfill, right?
You could add "First Printing" to the bottom of the tuck if you want to distinguish it from any possible reprint.

I personally would just be happy to own these. I like when decks are numbered but by no means do I crave it. I've never been a collector who cares about signatures or anything like that. If you did something special, great. If not, no big deal as far as I'm concerned. I'd spend your time working on something else!

If you want to do a seal, please do a bottom one. I really hate those seals on the tuck flaps as I actually enjoy opening my decks and looking at the cards.

I'm all in for a special seal/badge or a sleeve. Maybe a special numbered ad card would be another option.
Other than that, I'm not a huge fan of extras -
like in not card related extras - that I didn't order (dunno if I'm alone with this).
I don't wanna sound ungrateful, but e.g. the Ravn enamel pin is nice and I understand that it is a gesture of gratitude by the creators, but I really don't have a need for a pin; or keyring or something else for that matter. Stickers are always nice but I'm running out of space to slap them on.

There are a hundred ways to open them without hurting the tuckbox and/or breaking the seal. It is not a seal if it doesn't seal anything

.
I love the seals on the flap, actually sealing the deck of cards.

Thanks for the feedback guys - definitely food for thought! We’ll keep it simple for now for sure.
The final excruciating stretch towards the goal...

Thank you everyone!
We got funded at about 3am here so I have a bit of catching up to do regarding updates and thank-yous to backers.
I will say that top of my list is UC and everyone here not just those who pledged and helped spread the word, but just everyone for being involved in the discussion and helping shape the deck. Custom referrals on KS aren’t super reliable as many people just go over and search for new decks but I can say that a massive 6% of funding came directly from this thread.
I have to thank The Gentleman Wake as well and will do so personally outside of here. I believe his cross-promotion generated at least twice what KS is telling me and he’s been instrumental in our 6th campaign day being as strong as our second for pledges and our second strongest for backers which is pretty unusual. Usually at this point you’re treading water until the last few days!
So we’re off to go and focus on thanking our early backers, stretch goals and getting everything finalised for cartamundi. Thank you also for putting up with constant fillide barrages on your IG stories and pages
Onwards and upwards!

YAY! So awesome! CONGRATS!
This community is amazing and, as MTapp, it's quite heartwarming to see everyone come together to help make this happen <3
I seriously got nothing but mad love & respect for TGW for his awesome shoutout and to everyone else that took the time and effort - no matter how small - to help wherever and in whatever possible means they could to get the word out of how great this project is

congrats once again for reaching funding (and so relatively quick too!) and for your own amazing contributions to our community. Def well-deserving for all the hard work you put into making this project a success! woot woot! And be sure to also pass on the congrats to Ale for her beautiful design work <3

In case you guys missed it we did a little interview with Kardify. I think it turned out quite nice! Let us know what you think.

Oha, popping the Louis Roederer Crystal in here... am I late for a glass - or two?
Very nice interview. I especially liked the part where you teased that there are more deck ideas incoming...

Hey guys! Yeah we're almost there, although a couple of big cancelled pledges yesterday actually set us back to where we were on Monday
We also just moved house and the walls are like a nuclear bunker so we're struggling for internet when we're out of the office. No worries though, we're glad to rest for a couple of days.
Anyhoo...
Can I get some advice?
This is our current render for the uncut sheet. Ale did it based on what would look good rather than what would be practical, but I actually like the result with the two different backs in one sheet.
We could achieve this with a green/brown double backer, as well as the planned standard double backer. Both are useful to magicians (I like to use both) and I think it makes the overall aesthetic better.
What do you reckon?

I think it looks good with both card backs in the uncut, sort of book-ending the deck as shown in the illustration.

I think I tend to like having both backs on one sheet, it makes a single complete display of all art on one sheet.

I really like the way the uncut looks. With both back colours it is pretty cool. I would definetly prefer it that way, although I have to be honest that I never buy uncuts.

Love the addition of both backs and putting them on the opposite corners. All future uncuts should follow this if they have more than 1 back design.

I agree with all of the above. Both backs is an A+ design. Very nice.

Hi guys! A quick update.
We should hopefully have internet back today after moving house so fingers crossed we can be more active again for our final 10 days.
We managed to reach 125% - amazing! So we're now offering a printed booklet to go with the deck. I'm confident that the amount of detail we'll share in this with regards to the elements of the design of each card will surprise many people with its level of detail. We really put a huge amount of thought into everything from the characters and the items around them to the colour palettes used. There are even stylistic differences between the red and black suits based on two different art periods so if you're into it, it'll be a really nice read.
It'll also naturally include a longer version of the Fillide tale and some historical context for it, as well as it's continued existence today in Agrigento with the Festa del Mandorlo.
Now - Uncut Sheets
It turns out that the order of the cards is not what we expected, and instead goes downwards vertically rather than horizontally. Alessandra is of the opinion that this won't be as aesthetically pleasing, and I agree.
The question is, and I realise this may be blasphemy, do we have the decks arrive in a somewhat random order to enable a really nicely balanced Uncut sheet, or do we ensure that the decks are in a 'new deck' order?
On the one hand, I shuffle my decks immediately anyway after looking through the artwork. And the people most likely to be picky are the guys who don't even open the boxes
On the other hand, maybe there's a significance to 'new deck order' that I'm missing, and the cards may look a bit chaotic on opening. There are going to be around 300 customers of the decks, and only a handful of those for the sheets... so priority should probably go to the former.
Thoughts?
