Yeah, same here, but before I reorder I'm hoping for Lotrek's word on this to the community since this is big money and kidneys for many of us
Also, PayPal's refunding scheme isn't immediate which is a bit scary

After reading the comments here I have just discovered I was refunded too. No email notification to tell me this
Have just reordered my decks - I hope this doesn't affect the order the numbers are allocated seeing as my original order was placed within the first 2 minutes.

I also just received a refund email after 13 hours. Hopefully Lotrek will have this already in hand.

For those wondering about the serial number when repeating the purchase, you will all get your initial serial number. My website has kept the record, it was purely an issue with paypal.

So the outright purchase of a deck is $70 and the reservation is $80?? Or is the balance for a reservation $60?

$70 if you pay in full, no extra fee required
$80 if you pay only $10 upfront for reservation, followed by a full amount of $70 per deck before shipping
Yes, paying full gets a $10 discount

My correction wasn't your comment on timing, but your claim that the next Silk deck will be the black back design, which it will not be. The next Silk deck will have an entirely different back design.

Gold on dark green or gold on blue!!!
Gold over blue is one of the best combinations possibles.
Trust me on this. In Portugal we use to say "That's gold over blue" when we mean something is just perfect.
Are you sure you only want to do two versions? I wouldn't mind two more versions for the same price (or lower) in August or September...
Lotrek, at least check (please) the effect of gold over blue. If not on another version of this deck, you may use it the future.

I must have totally missed that. Thanks for the clarification TwoPiece.
My order has been placed again. Please take my money.

If Lotrek makes more than 1 other Silk deck then I'm throwing mine in the trash!

That was the plan, make TwoPiece buy a deck and then make him throw it away! Eheh

I know he said he wouldn't (and I wish designers would stop doing small print runs of high price decks because that limits the number of people who can enjoy the decks and becomes too expensive for "common people"). But, if he did, throwing one silk deck in the trash would be a mistake. You could try to trade it for another.
This method Lotrek is using isn't bad, anybody who wants a deck will be able to get it. And, working alone, handling the entire process, he needs to keep the numbers relatively low. I just wished the prices could be lower.
I think we all do

It's amazing what mess was caused by my statement for a second edition etc...
To make it clear: ONLY 2 editions will exist, in fact 2 different decks with more or less the same name. No color variations of the same deck, no test or error prints, no super limited editions with signed hair from my eyelids.
The second deck's color scheme will probably be gold on blue indeed although it's not yet decided. The second edition will be limited to a number roughly equal to the number of the first edition decks.

I'll skip this one and wait for the second edition, I need more blue decks made by Lotrek.

The ONLY similarities will the the name and
design of the court cards, correct? I think you mentioned that the courts will be the same, but recolored.

well damn; this was the greatest & only interest I had in this deck AND the major selling point for
me - I'm out! lmao
without those ultra limited edition signed eyelashes, this is an easy pass!

Can those that backed the first version get a limited time option to purchase the same number of second version decks as we bought for the first version before you open the sale up to everyone? Not everyone has as fast fingers as Pierre.
A locket of hair would have been sort of appropriate gives this is a “silk” deck.

At least we all know there will be a 2nd edition sometime soon.
Remember the outcry when everyone found out about the Blue Damask deck. I think Arabesque Silver was also a similar situation.
I would much rather know about future decks than have them sprung upon me.
Maybe next time just don't show us so many variations beforehand
Lotrek, I'm also curious as to how your reservations went?
Was it a hit or did most people simply buy outright to save themselves $10?

We hear you, our bank accounts definitely agree. However since Lotrek's ONLY

charging $70 for this one, it's actually lower than what his previous decks were sold for in 2018. Arabesque was around $80, Damask was at an eye-watering $90 for pre order sight unseen mystery deck!
So I really hope this new 2019 model of releasing decks becomes a hit for Lotrek and he can continue to lower his prices and release more decks for the public. I also hope it means that Lotrek's got the whole printing and cutting process down so that he can produce more decks at 2018 production rates or better.
One also wishes he will also get around to completing his much awaited Bosch deck in 2019! (HINT! HINT!)

Actually, the price of this deck surprised me a little given this is a one-foil deck. The Ambassador deck was his last single foil deck produced and it was only $38(?) early release and $45 regular release price. So, $70 was a huge bump up. I want to say that is the same price that I paid for the Signature Ambassador decks, with gold foil on silk tucks. Anyway, it doesn't matter much, the deck looks awesome and I am in anyway. Still, $45-$55 per deck would have been great.

I can only say, what would the world be like if Lexus LC500s, Jaguar F-Types, S-Class Mercedes, Aston Martins etc didn't exist? If the nicest car money could buy was a Camry with some extra options, what could we dream of or aspire to own or experience? They might be difficult to obtain, but they're worth it when/if you do. Not to mention how the new technologies/processes etc will trickle down to more ordinary decks and eventually become semi-commonplace.

The Ambassadors decks didn't have completely custom artwork, or the intricacy seen here. The number of foils isn't a fair comparison for price. Lotrek is the only designer I will buy standard type courts from and I definitely think his fully custom artwork is worth more.

"Only" one foil has to do with the number of different foil colors. Ambassadors had only 1 foil on the back. Silk has "only" one foil on the back and faces which multiplies the number of the plates needed.
Not to mention how technically demanding is to execute this work.

This is what I was gonna say. Foil on the faces shoots the production costs up.
