Awesome, Pierre! I thought those weren't shipping until early November?

I saw the 7th deck floating around in videos from the Con. The blue gilt looked great (presume it’s top middle). Disappointed neither my Con-shopping ninja nor I could make it this year. Next year’s is within easy driving distance (in Australian terms) from them, after being in their hometown last year, so if I can’t perhaps they can.

I’m not sure if my bank balance will stretch to GenCon *and* 52+ next year.

Deep in the bowels of the Australian customs office:

“Merle, do you want to play some cards? ... Wait...Nevermind, this deck is too confusing to open. Just send it on...what’s in your package? Any candy we can impound?”

It's too bad that seventh deck wasn't available for at least some of the full-set purchases. I am looking forward to my set, regardless! Thanks for adding the details already, Teddy :D

Fun Fact: the 8-deck carat case Sherman made for the Vanda Planets series is damn-near a perfect fit for the 6-deck Secret Kingdom NPCCD set. I am loving these cards, Alex!

That is funny. I tried the seven decks and no way it would fit. I didn’t think to try six decks. Maybe I did, but was too focused on the seventh deck.

Oh I opened my five deck set. I really like the handling of the cards with the raised inks on the backs. I have some decks much older for inter by MPC with the thick inks, but never opened them. I am getting impressed with the handling of some MPC cards.

Is there a video tutorial (for dummies) on how to achieve all the special/visual effects of the 3 deck set?

^Alex has said he will make one. Must still be in the pipeline.

In other news, I’m yet to receive my 6-deck set. Landed in Perth (1700-odd miles away) on Sunday AM and was “awaiting transfer”. Checked tracking again this morning: Arrived in Auckland NZ (1600-odd miles the other side), just as I was waking up.

Damn Sydney fires!

Edit: (Thursday lunchtime) Decks now back in Perth. Hopefully they've hit the road this time.

So I just posted a tutorial up. It was a bit more time than expected to make the video since I'm not used to doing things through mobile. The video goes through how the effect works and why it works and I tried to use some iconography to better explain it. Basically for most people, in a darker room if you shine your cell phone flashlight in the space you should be able to see it no problem since the contrast is high.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B4z_7M4nNjv/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

TLDR; As long as the INTERIOR space is brighter than the EXTERIOR space, you will be able to see the effect. The stronger the contrast the better the effect.

So I finally got to open the spare 3-deck set that I got from Alex (with the full set staying intact) and I am absolutely amazed by what he has done, particularly with the tiled backs. These are absolutely insane - well done, Alex.

I really like the 2017 NPCCD set and found last year’s to be somewhat underwhelming but this year he has delivered and then some. Easily, one of the top contenders for the best tuck in the DotY awards and an excellent deck throughout. My only minor point of contention is the absence of proper courts but otherwise an excellent effort.

Congrats Alex on receiving the 52+ Joker's 2020 Diamond Award winner for Deck of the Year for the 2019 NPCCD deck(s), 'ya know all nine in the set. So, does that make it the Decks of the Year Award? It is too confusing for me. What is not confusing is the amazing design used for this set.
