That is interesting. Here is what Kevin wrote to me on Kickstarter messaging on August 16th.

But you don't missed it, as the Esther Star still not starts, It will appear on the Kickstarter, if it starts, I will let you know.

I would therefore be very skeptical about this sale. It sounds like these will come up on Kickstarter and should not now be out there.

I noticed that he only mentions that the project hasn't launched and not that the cards themselves haven't yet been produced... which kinda leads me to think that they probably already were and they're planning on (ab)using the KS platform to sell them off rather than actually raise funds for production... whatever the reason for people already having them, the pics look pretty convincing and it seems pretty suspicious/dodgy that they're already out there...

I thought that they had half of the Luna Moon decks claimed for...? That doesn't really bother me if the decks still hadn't yet actually been produced - then, I think they still are technically raising funds for production rather than having them already produced and misusing the platform as an online shop to sell out remaining stock.

Either way, I personally have found this entire campaign to have been sorta a chaotic, confusing shitshow and, after feeling left a bit more than just mildly annoyed and frustrated, I'm not even sure I'd wanna go through another campaign led by Kevin Yu at all to be honest.

Bocopo does actually run Kickstarters for decks they've already released in overseas markets. So, that wouldn't surprise me.

I do like that they print with USPCC, though, so I usually give their campaigns a look. Definitely interested in backing another deck in this series.

Well, the 200 could be the prototypes or a limited run made for the set with a Chinese/Asian printer. Probably didn't expect Luna to explode the way it did.

They introduced Helius very quickly if you recall and they did say that Helius was for 2019. So they already had the set in hand/mind.

Don't know what is happening. Dispatch from China was definitely a bad idea but I got my decks a couple of months ago... And yes, the uncut sheet (that was a freebie as I bought 12 decks) was only recently dispatched.

Eh. That case doesn't do anything for me.

Also, I did back the original project, but had to drop for financial reasons. I'm glad I did because the cards don't look as good in-hand as they do in pictures IMO.

Yeah, the cards themselves are not something to write home about but Kevin's idea for the limited edition tuck is excellent. Will probably sign up for a few Esther decks to complete the series...

Already at over $23k in funding and over half of the 1 set of Esther decks EB pricing are gone. If you want one of those EB sets, better get to it. I am liking the case for previous backers. That is really a nice extra they are giving to previous backers.

Agreed. I also hate that they did the bait and switch from GW to China without informing backers beforehand. Having the one deck was a cool novelty so I'm all set.

For those still on the fence, Kevin Yu just mentioned in the comments on Kickstarter that 80% of the Esther Star decks are sold and should be sold out in 12 hours. Best pledge if you want one.

You and me both - should have been a much shorter campaign.

I am not too fussed about the display box - it is nice but not that nice that I would not want a fourth deck if one is to be produced.

Kevin now said that a stretch goal is coming - not sure what would that be, it is not like people can add more to their pledges. Odd...

It can be hard to know for sure how a campaign will actually work out. Ask Alex Chen and others. I am fine with it. I got the decks I wanted early. Now I have time for financing what I want. It is great. Heck, I am used to waiting after a campaign, so waiting is something Kickstarter backers should be used to.

Well, in Alex's case, given the success of his past campaigns and the fact that the last one was completing a set, I was surprised that it has not sold out sooner. Equally, Lotreck's decks that are limited editions sell out in less than a day (or, in case of Silver Arabesque, in about 3 minutes)...
