I think we can count on this being optimistic. As for the redemption decks, didn’t he promise one per month? We are on #6, and it has been a year. Does that mean there will be 6 more, assuming the above timeline works out?
He did promise one per month but as the months went on, I figured he wasn't able to keep up with his initial promise and accepted they'd come whenever. I'm not so sure we'll retroactively see him make up for the lost Redemption months, but I do love the series. If getting more of them didn't require further delay of the Patreon rewards, I'd be all aboard that Redemption train.

I know Lotrek has a history of being mysterious with his decks (Arabesque, Damask, Crypt), but wouldn't September have been an incredible opportunity for him to showcase some of his current projects, like Year 3, to the masses to gain more patrons? Or perhaps that's not his priority at all.

This one hits hard, especially since I've viewed you as one of his ultimate supporters. Lotrek should consider having a zoom meeting of some sort with his patrons. Give us an opportunity to ask him questions, connect with him, etc. in a kind and peaceful way with the potentially added benefit of improving morale. It's unfortunate that his promised timeline is after the open enrollment ends.

We have until this Saturday to really make a decision. Once again, jokes about being late with stuff isn't funny, we need to have our paid rewards.

I agree, they have been a welcomed addition to the rewards, and I am by no means complaining because I know he has been working hard to meet his obligations to us all. That said, I don’t think it is asking too much to expect him to stay true to his word. It wouldn’t be retroactive to release what he promised, it would be late. As usual. Knowing Lotrek, he seldom under-delivers, so I would hope that he would make good on what he has promised in one way or another.

As a TOTT backer, i will say that I do have some reservations when it comes to Lotrek actually delivering on his promises. The faces of the Prism edition were supposed to have “gorgeous red, gold and prismatic foil.” It turned out beautiful, but I was VERY disappointed that it ended up only having gold foil on the faces. I know this was likely because Omar could not afford to wait for him to make good on this promise. But, that doesn’t take the sting away for someone like me who was SO EXCITED to get my first foiled Lotrek deck. I went whole hog on that campaign, with a premium tier and ordered a Prism uncut sheet solely because I couldn’t wait to see, own, and display what I believed would be the most beautiful Lotrek deck ever. I think it would have been, had it been delivered as advertised, but alas it was not. I laid out a lot of cash for it, and waited with a lot of anticipation, only to be disappointed. That was my first Lotrek buying experience, and I hope never to feel that level of disappointment again. I was honestly surprised that more Prism backers weren’t as upset as I was. I guess people decided not to complain b/c it might unfairly hurt the TGW brand. As a lover of both TGW and Lotrek, I wish they would have delivered all the other rewards (minus the Prism decks); Omar could have moved on to produce the Successor, while Lotrek finished and delivered what was promised to the highest tiered backers. I never realized how upset I was about this until this very moment.

I love Lotrek’s work, and I’m willing to wait for it as long as it takes. But, in exchange for my patience, I expect that what is promised will be delivered in full - eventually. If the Redemption decks do not get delivered as promised, or if there is not some other consolation provided for the inability to make good on that promise, I might regretfully be out. The level of burn from that first experience is kinda leaving me with some trust issues. :(

the hardest part about all of this is the lack of acknowledgment and/or response that OPCC fails to provided

for someone that promised more print time at the presses, it sure doesnt look it that happened in 2023

you can blame summer shutdowns, holiday schedule, plate errors, paper stock, foil application error or the many other excuses you have but at the end of the day we’re not getting what we pay for

$3,100 for a few non-paid decks L O L
what’s your total for all the paid decks he printed and resold to us as extra charity money???

Lotrék were speaking to you LOUD & CLEAR

WAKE THE F’ UP MAN

time to get your shit together ffs. another year of delays is NOT acceptable

how can one gain traction (new subs) when you cant even lay down your own previous engagements

Call me crazy, but I just went from Golden to Manic. Maybe the tier name fits. Idk, I guess I don't really care about the wait so long as we get what we paid for eventually, something in which I am supremely confident. Lines of communication are sufficient enough for me. I'm undeterred lol.

Haha! I love it! I really do think he will come through eventually, or I wouldn’t still be supporting him. Remembering my biggest card-related disappointment of all time and being spooked by a slower than expected rollout of the Redemption decks has me feeling a bit pessimistic at the moment.

Thanks for the reminder that Lotrek has always eventually come through for his supporters. It’s just unfortunate for me that the sole outlier to this track record was also my first experience with his high end decks. I do believe he will come through in spades (pun intended) for us all. I guess I’m letting my previous disappointment color my feelings on the current situation. If I’m being objective, I think the current moment is the absolute low in sentiment of being a Lotrek supporter. As the first rewards finally start to arrive, things can only get better from here on out.

Got my Royal Silks earlier today from Deallez, who seem to be able to correctly assign numbers to customers. IMO, the print is substantially superior to the test. Honestly, and I mean no offense to anyone, I find myself wondering what those who think otherwise were looking at.

WHAT. A DECK. Whatever slightly dour sentiments I've taken away from the totally understandable criticisms in this thread have disappeared completely. This is why I support.

It's certainly helpful for us as a community to vent and speak our minds, so I appreciate hearing from everyone. I took your lead Piazza and opened my Royal Silk deck that I had recently purchased and am definitely impressed by the new, more defined borders he did. Really pulls the deck up a notch and the foiling even seemed shinier in some parts. The bleed from the hot foil stamping on the backs does poke through a bit more than in the test print, but having both these variations to play with makes the deck overall feel more whole.

I am now contemplating whether to up a tier to Manic or not, and should he really redeem himself this year, I may then consider Asylum for Year 5. Perhaps I'm riding a rollercoaster of dissonance and cognitive distortions, but so be it. I still love the beauty he strives for and achieves.

I can't imagine Lotrek would say Year 1 and Year 2 delivery in September with Year 3 in October, if he didn't feel some level of confidence that this would be achievable to a degree, but my hope does waiver from time to time and yesterday I found myself at a low. I'm still waiting on confirmation regarding where my two missing two Silk Teal decks are, and the level of communication does get frustrating at times. Henry just signed up to be part of the Oath Patreon and he is determined to fulfill his projects in the future should Lotrek give him the opportunity :) I'm confident that I'm not the only one who would be so on-board with that.

I was about to step in, and decided to step back. Thanks kevork of saying what I was trying to say better than I could have said.

There are few designers that I have zero regrets about buying any of their decks. None that I have invested more in than Lotrek. I have had my issues, but no regrets in the end. His quality, artistic ability and just dang determined vision puts him in a unique space.

Lately, I have had a few new office workers admire my playing card collection. I have been pulling out one of my Crypt decks to show them what a real collector deck of playing cards looks like. They get it right away, that it isn't just a deck of playing cards.

Being a Patron of Lotrek is as much my way of supporting Lotrek being Lotrek. If I get some amazing cards along the way. Great.

I wan to add that I’m going up a tier too. I’m undeterred and Lotrek always delivered in the end.

Few designers give me the satisfaction I get when I open Lotrek decks so I feel like I need to support him.

Lol. Love is all about accepting and appreciating someone for everything that they are, flaws and all. We all know Lotrek’s overarching flaw, and we all know the glorious flip side that most of us feel more than balances that out. I’m willing to overlook the long waits as long as everything that is promised gets delivered eventually. Now, if that didn’t happen, it would be a deal breaker for me.

you can find pictures out there. it isnt easy though. i have seen them and they are pretty much like every other lotrek deck for me, great use of foil and foiling technique but very gaudy and not my style. i was, and am, quite surprised how secret the deck remains. i really thought the request would be ingnored by many, even purposefully shown just to be edgy or rebellious.

All's cool if one has a higher tolerance level. I for me part decided it's enough. That's why I mentioned I would love to be stuck in the love is blind phase; because overall I still love Lotrék as a creator of decks.
But no more delays was part of the promises made. Mind-blowing decks was the other part of the promise, too. I have an appreciation for craftsmanship an all but I wanna see progress as well. Like with other decks, my Lotrék collection is big enough to have no need for the same old, same old. We still have bleed through, we still have delays, we still have multiple reprints and we still have promises made that aren't met. That's kinda boring. Even Lotrék's sense of humour has worn out for me personally. But kilometreage may vary 😃.

Would you believe Ive gotten that level of service in the US, from a US company?

Granted the thing(things like shirts and mouse matts) came from China and they use the most obscure shipper Ive ever seen. but its 6-8 weeks minimum to get here.

The best thing about cancelling, after being a Patreon for three years, is that with all the reprints I'll still getting decks for ages. On to the reprint I say.

I hear you. For my part, I voted to just send them. I did not have this much gray hair when I joined up. I'll have arthritis by the time Year 1 goes out at this rate.

If this goes to reprint, over/under that we see Year 1 before the end of 2023?

I missed the update, so I quickly read the update....yeah. Lotrek is Lotrek. I also agree that Burgundy/Gold combo sounds so sweet. :D

I can wait for Christmas in July...2027
