The lid is secured by the neodymium magnets in each of the corners
...they are quite strong and the deck does not fall out even when shaken upside down

Basically the top plate slides over and locks itself in place with the magnets, something like this picture. Honestly the display cases are absolutely gorgeous.

Re: Introducing "Carat" Acrylic Deck Display Case
I have had the chance to try one out and I highly recommend these cool cases. The lid stays on very tight and even thicker decks fit perfectly. Great Job Sherm

Re: Introducing "Carat" Acrylic Deck Display Case
Not sure which way you meant in regards to stacking, but here are some shots (sorry for the quality) of stacked cases. When setting up the cases for the shot, I realized that the lid magnets interfere with each other and repel the adjacent case ever so slightly. To resolve this, I flipped ever other case in the pics...lid side facing out for one case and lid side facing in for adjacent cases (hope this makes sense)dazzleguts wrote:Do they stack well?

Thanks Shermjack
I was indeed wondering if the magnets were strong enough to repel each other.
Easily solved and they make a beautiful display.

Re: Introducing "Carat" Acrylic Deck Display Case
In those shots you can tell how thick the acrylic actually is, but it appears it's a bit roomier on the inside as well, at least for some of the decks you picked to display. I'll definitely use your earlier measurements (copied below) and do a needs assessment to figure out how many I may want. Thanks!
Inner dimensions - W 6.8cm x H 9.3cm x D 2.0cm or W 2 11/16 in x H 3 5/8 in x D 1 3/16 in
Outer dimensions - W 7.8cm x H10.3cm x D 3.0cm or W 3 1/16 in x H 4 in x D 1 1/4 in
Materials - 0.5cm (1/4 in) thick acrylic sheet & neodymium magnets

These are beautiful, and the utilization of magnets makes these cases even more user-friendly and sleek. Fantastic pricing as well!

Re: Introducing "Carat" Acrylic Deck Display Case
Sorry it's taken me so long to chime in about these. My job has been trying to kill me lately. (Sorry Shermjack!)
I have had a chance to try one of these out and I can't say enough good things about it. The magnet are plenty strong to hold your most prized decks but not so strong you need to struggle to open it. The acrylic is nice and clear and the display options are nearly endless. I am working on a display with the one I have and I'll post pics here when I get them.
