the rendering on the back of the tuckbox looks incredible, i highly doubt it would look like that in the end product. Too bad they didnt use that colour scheme on the actual back design, opting for a gold white combi where lots of details could get lost.

I agree the tuck looks much better than the back, and told them so in the comments. If enough backers ask for the tuck box's red on the card back, maybe they'll change it.

I've done share of trashing their repetitive decks, but this looks pretty darn nice. If that tuck gets embossed with the gold that's gonna be sweet. I threw in for a couple.

I thought I was done with these guys too, same old same old, but that tuck. Seriously, that tuck if it can live up to the render at all should be amazing with the embossing and that design. Fair price too which is unheard of these days for that nice of a tuck especially.

Erm, ok i was actually thinking about pledging for these for a moment, then i saw this.

Stretch Goals:

$65k for the box to be foiled and embossed, no way is this gonna make that, and that box is the only thing i have going for me. So i guess im out, if this makes $50 odd k ill come back and think about it.

About damn time they do actual custom courts and no way in hell they'll reach $90k. If they sold these $15 with the foil and embossing then it could be worth it. Similar to how the Bicycle Hundred Years War deck was.

Ohh, these are not the usual pompous faces. In fact, I see a little Rick Davidson style in there maybe. Courts could be a bit bigger. The custom pips are not so out of whack that I can't tell what they are. They keep on getting better and better it seems. And they are becoming the Kings of "Fluff" How much stuff can we sell besides decks?

Yeah, I do like the direction the courts are heading. And yes, they certainly do suggest some influence by Rick's Origins. As others here have mentioned, I'd figured I was done with Elite, but I'll keep an eye on this one to see how it progresses.

Don't call it a comeback! They were silent after they released Excellence plus we always crapped on how their decks and tucks look the same so this may be their way of coming out strong. The tuck back looks like Origins and that queen looks Aquila-ish to me. Check out their courts especially the queen of clubs.

You're great with a hammer, that's exactly right on all counts, nailed it. Too bad they don't listen. They should have just charged a few bucks more and came out of the gate with the gold and embossing. Best case now would be to alter the stretch goals and make them come in sooner. I'm certain many people are holding out as we've already seen and many like myself may pull out at the end if it won't it the goals, which clearly is very unlikely. I feel a little duped too because it's photo after photo with superlative descriptions of all these stretch goals, which is only clarified later in what may as well be small print. I'm doing my part and pledged already though, here's to hoping for a strong finish or a rare change of plans for the better.

What about samples/proofs? Elite should have a few decks for test/samples to show how it will look exactly, before starting KS project.... It's common sense. USPCC will ask for more, but that should not be a problem for them or wait.. actually end product won't look like that and many backers simply won't back haha

Actually, their last 2 decks went for over $65k so maybe there is hope for this, especially since it is 10x better than those previous ones and there's no heavy hitters really on KS right now. Those both funded the first 2 days and this likely will as well.

I'm with you fellers. If they'd kept the red & gold colors throughout the cards and offered the tuck as shown in the pics from the get go, I'd be in. For now though, I'll sit by the wayside and hope they make some changes.

I backed this. Then I read more carefully, and cancelled my pledge.

I find the non-disclosure of the fact that the mockups are NOT what will necessarily be produced from the start very disturbing. They are showing off a very nice looking box (though very Origins-like IMO) and hinging all of the visual appeal on that, but unless it funds at a high level the customer will not get what is pictured. That is deceptive and disingenuous and I do not like it one bit.

This is their FIRST paragraph! Where is the mention that this might not be what you get?

And taking off my business persona for a moment, that they get away with it and their projects fund higher than mine just pisses me off. I do not like it when fundamental design decisions which should be the core of the project are put in as mere options with that fact buried 40 paragraphs down the page. Bait and switch should not result in the same suckers coming back for more every time.

And probably 50% or more of the backers would not notice, or would not care, if what they saw on the pics is not the same product, when they receive it after 5-6 months from now. And they won't even say word about it (even they will post how great are the cards) and they'll be happy....

This is 100% the first thing I thought too. Ohhhh look at that... Isn't that tuck pretty! Hey wait, whats wrong with the backs?

I struggled to see it with the white and gold and actually felt the disappointment manifest inside me. I didn't back just on that.

The colour of the tuck is also probably my favorite colour in the world too....

Now at over $50k, less than $10k and 11 days to reach embossing (gold foil just met). While annoying, the nice thing about they way they have stretch goals is as each earlier goal is hit they cause people to spend more, thus increasing the total and getting to the all important $60k mark faster. I'm guessing as it gets closer and over 60 we'll see a quick increase. I just hope it's somewhat as good in reality as the renders look.

While I'm holding my beautiful Origins Grail deck in my hand right now, I'm ok with the pearl version. The normal one is just fine. I can use that $20 for another new deck.
