That is probably the reason. When you google about female on guitar world covers not much comes updazzleguts wrote:Eoghann wrote:You'd think they'd be able to scrounge up 4 female guitarists for the Queens.
Maybe the problem is these players don't have the glossy cover photos they're using for the cards.

There is no way I could agree more. True, many themes can become a great deck but we'll soon be seeing themes like: The Onion Deck, Toilet paper deck, Meatballs deck, Smashed Frog deck and so on. There are now 1,024 projects on Kickstarter if you search for "playing cards," which is just flat out crazy. In early 2012 when I did Tendril there had been 6 proper (i.e. USPCC) playing card projects. I think there are about 30 active ones this month alone.
Projects like this are just so unrelated to anything that makes playing cards great. I guess everyone has the right to try to make some money, but why playing cards have become the dumping ground for seemingly every idea under the sun is beyond me.

smashed frog deck. I like it. I'll start taking pics of run over frogs until I have sufficient number for a deck. might even find some that look like they have crowns on. Yes, in thinking about this more I think there are now three very distinct categories of producers in the card world:Lotrek wrote: There is no way I could agree more. Workin' on it. My question is - when category #3 grows to 20K or 30K, what mechanism will be in place to make sure that category #2 is even noticed by the masses which appear to be mostly social media driven? Maybe UC needs an app which pushes out info to eyeballs without folks having to actively search/look for top quality playing card decks/projects.Encarded wrote:Somehow we need to transition the talented few of those 10,000 people into category #2 so we have less noise and more quality.

Can't wait to see the jokers!Cbkimble wrote:
