Is it me or does the art style look different from their usual aesthetic? It looks like a different artist but I'm not sure.

Definitely is a different style but I dont think every deck has the same artist, but that may come down to the various sub brands they print that end up in the yearly sets.

I am on the belief that Room One is the new Riffle Shuffle of Kickstarter:
It's like, once one ends, another begins.

But in Room One's defense, they opened up all the available decks rather than having us keep checking back and forth for any surprise releases

I mean this with no disrespect, but Room One in my opinion has cornered the budget collector deck market. Not everyone can afford Ark, or Oath so having that kind of variety is good. While their art style really doesn't appeal to me, I appreciate what they offer to the community. Marco and Candace are class so its hard to hate when you have good people at the wheel.

I don’t mean any ill fate to them, but wallet can’t simply handle to catch up with everything.

But yeah, at least Room One has these unique tuckbox offering when ARK’s proof to be too much

Nah, it's still me and Candice who designed it all (with the team's help too, you can meet them at the Asia Card Convention). We just wanted to try something different and see how it'd go. Turns out we love it, and we hope you all do too. This time, as we mentioned on our Patreon, we were inspired by the art from the Victoria and Albert Museum (and the art books we bought there) from our London trip two years ago after the Blackpool Magic Convention. But my favorite part of that trip was always the Chelsea Stanford Stadium 💙⚽️

What decks we created :
Oppenheimer, Hyakki Yagyō, Plague Doctor, Samurai Otter, Godzilla x Kong
Trial of Blackbeard, Fox's Wedding, Assassin's Creed, Stellar Dread, 1001Nights.....

Really love the design, and also that the theme is different from a lot of other recent decks!

Bloody annoying seeing Arsenal still leading the table.

Nah, actually 95% of the decks are designed by me and Candice, And our team, which includes Adrian and Charles.
That said, we’re still the ones fully in charge of the overall concept, art style, main subject, and composition.

If a deck isn’t from us, you’ll usually see “Room One Crossover” written in the bottom-left corner of the tuck face instead of “Room One present” or “Room One Collection”.
That said, even some of the Crossover ones are still designed by us—like Patrick Kun’s deck and the RIPNDIP collab. I’m pretty sure there are more, I just can’t recall them all right now.
We don’t want to lock ourselves into one specific style—we’re always trying to step out of our comfort zone.
Hope you end up liking this one.

I like what I see so far, as I said it stands out as significantly different than say the AC or Bloom decks. We'll see in the end how it compares to say "strange tales"

I wonder if this motivates me to buy a well-illustrated book on Andersen's fairy tales, rather than a deck inspired by them. Love the concept! I imagine we may see a Grimm's version as well.

Exactly kev! I am a fan of Curtis Jinkins and wanted to buy the National Parks deck (from 59 Parks) for the card back but instead bought the 59 Parks book which contained all the posters instead of just 12 courts

Beautiful set - can't wait to get it! I'm hoping it has some additional 'bonus' aspects to it. It felt like those features added some real depth to the set - whether is was some sort of puzzle to solve (as with Sherlock Holmes or Magicians Last Secret) or additional 'lore' material (as with the Strange Tales encyclopedia or Tanuki Yukaku Koi-Koi scroll). Regardless - really looking foreward to this one and to trying to actually get the whole second series while they're being released! My wife and I were a little late to the game in picking up everything from the first series - but it won't stop us from trying! ;-)
