I originally started buying nice decks to play card games with the family, but we can’t play enough games to keep up now. So I thought I’d take some pictures to record the collection — and give myself an excuse to open a few more decks in the future.
Thirdway Industries – Fiamma Rosso
This was the first real infatuation. A few decks came before it, but this one truly grabbed us, and Gio is now the only designer the kids know by name. An absolute crowd favourite.
Playability isn’t super high with these; under full light they can be a bit hard on the eyes, but the foil and overall design more than make up for it. It’s therefore a little surprising that this is second only to S17 Madame Laveaux as the most‑used deck we own.
The deck comes in two variants: the Rosso (this one) and the Nera, which was sold out when I bought the Rosso. The Nera features black gilding and swaps the gold foil for red — and the red for black — on both the tuck and the back design. It looks quite striking in photos. I’ve managed to secure a copy on the secondary market, but I haven’t opened it yet.

Re: [Kenackers] Deck Photos
I wasn’t entirely convinced by the Lotrek hype at first — ornate cards that are virtually unusable.
Oath Playing Cards - Royal Silk Test Print
I’d been watching a number of The Card Guy videos, which were genuinely informative and opened my horizons to JBP, Jocu, Elettra Deganello, TWI, and other custom decks after my initial foray into Bicycle and Theory11. At first this was only mildly expensive… and then I saw his video on the Royal Silk Test, and the costs began to escalate.
After watching that video, I promptly went out and bought one for myself — comfortably the most expensive deck I’d purchased up to that point. When it arrived, I joyfully unwrapped it and immediately dropped the deck on the hardwood floor, dinging the bottom right‑hand corner. Fortunately the cards were unharmed; the box was a little worse for wear, but not the end of the world. Still… what an idiot.
The cards themselves are everything I’d hoped for. They look like metal, feel like paper — almost like the old foil wrapping inside a cigarette packet (or at least how I remember them; I haven’t held one in over 20 years). They’re a joy to hold and to look at, but it’s a slippery slope once you start to fall.

They look pretty darn good to me too! I think the use of foil is somewhat offset by a limited color palette.

And if I am not mistaken, no ink was used. The color you see is the actual paper stock.

Yes, as you note its the purple card stock, which is very cool.
I like the side-on view of the deck showing the card stock...it's like gilding without the actual gilding.
