Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
This is super random but did anyone backing at the Golden Patrons tier stop backing after year 3? I started backing in year 4 and wanted to swap one of each deck from years 2 and 3 with one of each from years 4 and 5 (you get 4 new decks and I get 4 new decks). Obviously we wouldn't trade until all years have been fulfilled lol. If anyone is down for this kind of trade lmk!

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I have been backfilling some of Lotrek's decks over the past month or so and have really appreciated the insights and photo's from this thread as I do so.
The foil faced versions such as Silk, Royal Silk, Black Patrons are amazing, I have really enjoyed thumbing through Royal Silk in particular. I have however really appreciated the non foil decks also, I think Moresque with its faces that have a "visual texture" including a red frosted / mist like effect (like a patina) merging into the subtly patterned yellow face is one of my absolute favourites. The currently available Redemption Players is also very well done, I enjoy the patterned effect and the way the central motif changes depending on the pip configuration. The overall feel is one of a very classy and well designed playing card (I do like cards that I can use).
Given is seems that the foil faced versions are the most popular, I am curious about Oath Standard Collectors. I can see that they are popular and prices are high, particularly for the gold / gold version, so I am curious that, as compared to other decks they seem to have a higher perceived value. Not as high as Damask, Golden Oath or some others perhaps, but the highest I have seen for a non-foiled face and at the price or higher than other popular foiled examples (Silk, Royal Silk, etc).
While they look great, I am interested if anyone can share what drives the pricing of these, is it the foiled backs, the fact that these are harder to get as they are older, they have a cult status, my sample size is too small? Be interested in the views on this one. Tks

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I'd say the primary reason for this is its low print run. Not many Lotrek decks have a print run sub-100. To note, yes, the gold on gold foil is blinding in certain angles of the light and looks really elegant, but I don't think it's the primary driver of the price.

Yeah its good he is focusing on Patreon rewards first , personally I would rather have him complete all Patreon Rewards then get into any other big project.

I was under the impression this might be a yearly Patreon reward, but it appears it may be up for preorder soon. No idea as of now!

Lotrek, forgive me for letting AI butcher your work, but I thought it did a great job trying to remove the lens distortion. I could not get it to fix the symmetry issue it created, however.
Things went quite sideways

I’ve had an email saying that I have a delivery coming, or at least that a label has been created.
The only thing I am waiting for is my year two Patreon awards.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
So this looks to be the general public edition of the Year 2 "basic" deck. Patrons will get a special variant of this deck. Lotrek had mentioned replacing Golden Rule as the reward for Year 2 since so many variations of that deck have already been printed, so this appears to be the deck to take its place.
So now:
Year 2 Patreon Rewards (2021-2022)
• Unknown deck (replacing Golden Rule)
• Royal Patrons

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
They may or may not happen. He said he would potentially consider printing a final version so that the series doesn't go unfinished. The closest to final we have right now is the Golden Rule Patreon Test Print, but the final would have a darker blue for the backs, and perhaps other changes that Lotrek thought necessary.

Foil, foil, foil. I would prefer Lotrek to apply his artistic skill to design more than printing. I know I am in the minority but any more foil and the backs will look like fancy drink coasters

Actually, that's what I do. Before printing there is the design.

Yes I know Lotrek, I was just stirring a bit - for those of us that prefer your 'no foil' work. Cheers
