How can only I see it? Maybe it is lighting/reflection. To me it looks like a deck shell gimmick or something along those lines.

Looks like it's reflecting something out of picture to me. You can see the separation of the cards on the upper right.

Ya i suppose that must be it. Like kevork said, maybe I can't unsee a single card on top of a folded box to represent the rest of the deck.

Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
Lorenzo indicated in an email to patrons this morning that Parlour Royale is already printed or at least being printed and should be on KS within 2 weeks.
How they are going to ship it? no one knows.

To clarify, he said "The production of the 3 decks (Prism, Legacy, Ivory) will be ready in 2 weeks."
He didn't say when the KS would begin.

I just got the Successor blue deck and noticed the tuck is kind of backwards. Looks like they mixed up the front and back images. Were they all like that or just a few?

Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
Hey all! It's been a while. So sorry that I haven't been as present. The struggles of the last year have been well documented. This post isn't about those things. I just want to comment on some of the above speculation.
First things first, Beetlebacks fulfillment will start on May 1st. It may drag on a bit due to the pre-mentioned circumstances. So some might not get their decks in the first batch of shipments but they WILL get them regardless. I will update everyone via the campaign.
Two, Parlour Royale campaign is on hold until fulfillment is underway and the Tariff situation made clearer. We specifically CHOSE to pre-produce in an effort to win back folks who may be disillusioned by how long beetlebacks is taking.
Three, grave witness will happen. The deck is completely designed. I've already invested in the design. It's just a matter of when and the scope. Which will almost certainly be smaller than previous campaigns.
Thank you all for your patience and continued support.

The tuck layout is unorthodox. Its the same for all the successor decks.

It is a great looking tuck and card/tuck quality is relatively outstanding. Was the unorthodox layout a conscious decision cause it seems like an oversight, given it being so unusual.TheGentlemanWake wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 4:08 pmThe tuck layout is unorthodox. Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
It was Kevin Cantrell's preference. How he designed it. I think the main reason was likely the choice to make sure the full sculptural relief had more space.JazzBaloo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 4:13 pmIt is a great looking tuck and card/tuck quality is relatively outstanding. Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
Doesn't the front have more space and structural integrity because there isn't a cut out for the opening flap? Well whatever the reason is, it's unusual and surprising it took me so long to notice it. Has it been discussed to lengths already? I'm late to the card collecting game and missed a lot over the years.TheGentlemanWake wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 4:27 pmIt was Kevin Cantrell's preference. How he designed it. Launching last week of July. Decks are already printed and will be at Gamblers awaiting immediate fullfillment as soon as the campaign is complete. Beetlebacks will be fulfilled by then as well.

These backers are still unaware of the update. Did they miss an email or have the KS backers not been notified?

I don't think KS backers were informed that TGW is no longer fulfilling by himself and that the previous 5/26 fulfillment date got pushed back. Those of us who know probably only know from UC and TGW's discord server.

I suppose the point is that people dont want to support TGW any more based on the level of communications/delays in the current project. Even if is also a S17 project (and one that is already printed and shipped to the US).

Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
Omar hasn't mentioned anything related to VAT and import charges in the EU about Beetle backa and this really worries me.
Originally, the KS guaranteed that it would have EU-friendly shipping. Given this promise and my faith in an apparently established producer, I opted for the largest reward, which would also show my support to TGW. As soon as he announced that he would not be able to provide EU-friendly shipping (and that he wouldn't do anything about it), I asked to downgrade, which of course he denied instantly - my money was now his money. After some other backers expressed their dissatisfaction as well, he said he would try to do something to keep EU backers happy (like he doesn't owe it to us). But yeah, EU fulfilment really worries me in terms of additional cost. Just thought it would be good to have this here as well for people from the EU thinking about backing future projects

I get the sense you already know the answer. On the off chance you don't, it's yes to both questions.

I seriously doubt it, it's not the first time someone has done it. TWI sometimes will already have the decks almost done when a campaign ends for example(pretty sure the current campaign is yet to be printed, at least the tucks), some of the Chinese producers (I want to say ARK for one) has posted shots of the stacked finished product before the campaign ever started.JazzBaloo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:38 pmThe deck is already printed? The idea that kickstarters are there to get something made is an outdated idea, its a marketplace/place to promote your stuff.

ARK protects itself by saying all the photos and the decks given out are "prototypes" even though they just slap a different sticker on it and boom, it's a full production model.
Yeah, KS still has their terms stating it's not a storefront because you're technically pledging for something, but it's rarely ever enforced.

No personal offenses to you. I speak freely and some people are sensitive to it. It appears that is not the only "rule" commonly broken by ks dealers.

Re: TGW and Stockholm17 Present The Parlour Royale - coming soon
I guess I should clarify that KS isn't ALWAYS there to get stuff made. Im well, well, well, aware that there are quite a few people with an idea and a dream who will take the KS funds and do their best to turn it into a delivered product. But there are quite a few producers, in the card space definitely, who don't need the funding to get their decks printed. And honestly Im probably more likely to back them because they DO know what its going to take unlike say a deck I can think of that was going to print at USPCC, got like 200 backers and then...found out that USPCC has minimums.
as far as the actual rules, the spirit of what Ive found so far on KS's site is that you cant use KS to sell a product already available elsewhere as the campaigns pledge items. for example KWP cant offer their existing federal52 decks as a pledge level (though they are allowed to offer it as an addon as a lot of people do with existing products). But nothing I've found says that you cant have an entirely new product ready to ship that can be the campaign focus (in this case federal52 2025 edition).

Same situation here. I also went all in and took COMPLETIONIST due to the EU-friendly shipping. Now I will be hit massively by customs and VAT. I think this was my last KS campaign, this is not worth it.0x5053 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 4:56 pm Omar hasn't mentioned anything related to VAT and import charges in the EU about Beetle backa and this really worries me.
