Interesting deck, but it seems that I will just be pictures of moths on cards. If you like moths that are cleverly integrated into a deck of cards, then you should check out Cryptic Cards by Izzy Smith, who is a bioscience researcher as well as an amazing artist with a fascination with camouflage, mimicry, and symbiosis.

Back Design of our upcoming edition “MOTHS” by Matthew Palladino (@palladingdong)

For SW, “MOTHS” is based on Palladino’s previous series “Moth Studies” (2020). 18 different species of moths are depicted seen from above, visually resembling identification books for insects and other natural phenomena. A complete moth identification chart is included with the edition, providing an overview of all species as well as their respective names. The back design features a kaleidoscope-like moth artwork.

“MOTHS” is an edition of 500 decks of cards. Each deck comes individually numbered and housed in the SMALL WONDER heavy duty L-CASE.

For this deck I selected from my favorite portrait paintings characters to adorn the royal cards. I made drawings anthropomorphizing the club/spade/heart/diamond symbols into impish little creatures. Small Wonder editions are functional art, an edition that has more life than just a print hanging on the wall, and people can engage with my work in a very active and personal way through playing with this deck. "Labyrinth Forest" is SMALL WONDER's first collaboration with celebrated Tokyo based ancco. Step into a true labyrinth, where every card bears the unmistakeable touch of the artist, but be aware.. "if you get lost , you'll never go back." ancco's practice spans many lengths. Though most known for her graphic aesthetic style often labeled as "kawaii", her practice additionally covers sculpture and product design. Besides her gallery exhibitions in Japan, ancco has provided artwork for both Japanese and international brands and bands alike. Most recently including Heaven by Marc Jacobs, NCT WISH, Converse, and Nike.

YUTHANAN - ARTIFACTS #1 [SOLD OUT]







"ARTIFACTS #1" marks our first collaboration with Tokyo-based multidisciplinary creative Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau. This deck of cards was designed specifically for "ARTIFACTS," his debut solo exhibition, taking place in Tokyo on September 7th, 2024.

Edition of 100 decks of cards.

“Artifacts” is the idea of re-purposing past ceramics from the Showa era. Yuthanan has been traveling around Japan to source these relics from another era that have been unnoticed over time, and most of them forgotten. Painting famous logo brands is an excuse to give a second life to this beautiful piece of craft, a way to rediscover its beauty, instead of buying new ceramics, why not re-investing in past artifacts with a modern twist?" - Yuthanan.

“SUPER SUIT” marks our first collaboration with California-based artist David Jien, and after nearly two years in the making, we’re thrilled to finally share it with the world.

This edition showcases a range of characters—some drawn from DJ’s existing universe, while others are making their debut in this deck. As DJ puts it:
"The Spades are the bad guys, and the Hearts are good. The Clubs are dead, and the Diamonds are… well, the Diamonds sort of just do their own thing."

Availability:
“SUPER SUIT” will be available for purchase for four days only, from December 4th to December 8th 2024 (ends midnight CET). The total number of decks sold during this period will determine the final edition size, which will be printed on the box.

Each deck includes a signed and numbered card inside the pack, so you’ll know exactly which edition you’ve received.

Someone on eBay has several of the David Jien decks for $67 -- I have no idea what the original price was so not sure how good or bad of a price that is

“The Road to Art: Truck Culture Without Borders”



Our new collaboration with Tokyo based designer and artist Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau celebrates the beauty of Pakistani truck art - an art form transforming everyday vehicles into moving canvases.

This deck includes a number of hand-painted trucks, featuring motifs and patterns inspired by objects collected by Yuthanan from around the globe, many of which can be found displayed in his Tokyo Atelier.

Got the David Jien deck in, it seems legit -- I'll open it up and take some pictures when I have room to do so On the tuck it says the edition size is x/243 plus 7 artist proofs

(The deck was also packaged extremely well)
