If you replied after a "bump post" was made and now it's gone, it's possible OP just deleted the bump.

Kev, you can see that the post ('bump' by him) is still there (the first reply above) but it does not say "bumped by JacksandJokers". I did not make that reply today but rather months ago and yet there is no evidence of the original and when it was posted there anymore just a post dated today

The existence/evidence of when I actually made it is no longer there/able to be found by even me!
I am staggered that this is possible. JacksandJokers is controlling my post - it has my avatar etc and looks like it was posted by me today
I am not suggesting Jacks meant anything untoward but this is what has happened.
Imagine if somebody/the thread starter (?) has the power to do this!!!!
I can think of some posts by designers that they would not wanted Bumped (by someone else) to appear as if they were being made today

If I had only taken a screenshot straight away so that you could see that what now appears to be my post today actually said 'bumped by JacksandJokers'. If he actually typed and then removed "that he had done the bumping" - which, now that you mention it, is more likely than my initial thought that my reply had caused the disappearance of the 'who bumped it message' then that is an even bigger worry! That would mean someone other than a mod can edit a post made by another - a post now showing as if the other (ME ) made it today. If they can Bump and Edit someone else's post they could have someone else seemingly making outrageous posts.

and that NOBODY other than the actual poster (and maybe Mods) can edit

Regarding the other stuff, might have just been a glitch in the UBB software which this forum runs on? Or could be that J&J edited their original post after you replied to it yesterday.

Yes, the OP seems to have changed the title of the original thread (you will see that that my post still says End of Summer Sale) and somehow my post was bumped. What worries me is that that post now says I posted it on Nov 26, worse still is that when it was somehow bumped by someone other than me, it first said "bumped by JacksandJokers". The fact that it no longer says that means that somebody was able to edit a post that I wrote
We cannot have people able to bump another's post and Edit it - imagine the scary possibilities
Even when Mods do this, there should be an unremovable edit note

It's good opportunity to see if the Verified Seller tag allows for moderator level editing and if so, to revoke that privilege.

There is a feature, either an addon or built in that will identify a post as edited and the time, with option to add the reason. Usually mods have done a great job with noting when they make edits and I trust them enough to not need that feature cluttering posts but I'm not fully opposed to it either.

Just to clarify.

I bumped the original listing for the "End of summer sale" and changed it to show the current Black Friday Sale.

This was simply done to reduce the number of threads as our previous thread was still pretty current.

Card Collecting as a whole has completely died down since Covid and more so, since inflated costs to print has sky rocketed.

Was hoping for more than just a few pickups from T11.

There are a ton of deals, just for whatever reason the community hasn't posted them to a thread here this year. I collated them at least once in the past but it was a decent amount of work and was pretty thankless. I must have received at least a dozen emails around playing card BF sales this year and saw more on social media.

As Strag noted above, compiling all the news can get a bit odious. I did it for several years, although I wasn't the first. In fact, Strag may have been the first or the second guy to do it, and I picked up the ball and ran with it for a long while, but lately... time has lost all sense of meaning ever since the Covid lockdowns. And being unemployed. Etc., etc.

I don't want to hijack J&J's thread here, though, so I'll move along. But, I hope everyone finds all the deals they could want on Cyber Monday!

No notes were added or removed.
All I did was simply amend the text of the original summer sale and bump the post
