You got me researching the Australia connection kev
I had not heard of Strangelove.
They have only been around for a decade, which coincides with my leaving Melbourne.
Turns out they have been bought out by the big Japanese beverage company Asahi (who also bought out our biggest beer co. CUB - some of you would have heard of Fosters beer)

Many Australians have told me Aussies don't drink Foster's

Fun fact: Foster's is distributed by Asahi in Australia; Lion in NZ; Molson Coors in the US/Canada; and Heineken everywhere else

Since the cat is out of the bag, this coincidentally arrived on my birthday. Only 35 in existence and previously available only through Seasons' "Manor of Wonder" mystery sale, December 2019.
@seasonsplayingcards wrote:"DID YOU KNOW... the original series (NPCCD 2018) was going to be red and GREEN vs the released red and blue? The anaglyph effect works on canceling out complimentary light waves. Green cancelled out the opposite red colored light wave better than blue did. But the color palette was feeling a bit too "Christmas-y" so green was never released."

After some cyber stalking, I found these to be the initials for Alexander Ming Chin.

I think I read somewhere about green being his favourite color and there was a deck that he was going to/wanted to do in green but it either didn't work or he did not want to impose his preference on people - maybe it was this deck

Another one from my wishlist finding its way to me.
Fact & Fancy by Dick Martin for Chicago Playing Card Collectors' 10 year anniversary, 1961. The art depicts six centuries of famous card players and famous playing card designs. CPCC eventually merged with 52 Plus Joker.

There is also the same version with a red back that exists as well.

Another Dick Martin deck, this time "Mythological Zoo" released in 1971 for Chicago Playing Card Collectors (CPCC). Joop has a wonderful write-up of this deck found here: http://www.dxpo-playingcards.com/xpo/art/dickm-02.htm

I'll be lucky if I can find the color version some day to add to my collection.

"In Der Feuhrer's Face" - Artwork by Antonio Arias Bernal, Produced by Bill Schroeder & M.R. Steele. Print run of 500.
The posters were commissioned by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to be used in South America to persuade those countries to join the Allied war effort. However, soon after Bernal began his work, some six South American countries declared their support for the Allied forces, and the need for the posters was diminished; moreover, at or about the same time, peace was declared, and so the entire project became unnecessary. However, Bernal had been paid and dutifully saw the project through to completion, preparing the posters he had been paid to prepare.

The Bernal posters were virtually unknown until a set surfaced at a playing card auction that Schroeder attended some 50 years later. I am not entirely certain it was intended that the posters would also be printed as a deck of playing cards, although that certainly appears to be the case. The card-by-card explanatory book that accompanies the cards contains a comment on each illustration by Bernal, followed by a further comment by Schroeder and taken collectively they are at least strongly suggestive that the number of posters created was chosen with an eye toward a deck of playing cards. Certainly the number is highly convenient as Schroeder embarks on his part of the project, and he explains the presence of 3 Jokers by noting that the second and third Jokers were created because Bernal was not completely satisfied with the first one he created. In any event, there were 56 posters, and 52 are also now suited cards, 3 are Jokers, and one serves as a unique design for the backs. The name of the deck and accompanying book were coined by Schroeder, and are based upon a Spike Jones song of the same name that appeared in a Disney animated short, ultimately also given the same name.

The cards trace a history of WWII and its principal actors, beginning with the Ace of Diamonds (Hitler as young man), proceeding chronologically through the Diamond suit, and then through the remaining suits – Ace through King in the Clubs, Hearts and Spades, in that order. The King of Spades shows Hirohito crawling on his hands and knees away from the rubble of Hiroshima after the first Atomic bomb.

Since I only have the Alice in Wonderland deck of hers to compare to, this one handles incredibly well for a handmade deck.

I am currently traveling in Armenia, upon which I found Sergei Parajanov's playing card deck, which I recall seeing a picture of online at some point. I had no idea he was Armenian (Sarkis Parajanian).

From ad card:
In 1982, while imprisoned in Ortachal prison, the great director experienced firsthand the Soviet regime's attitude toward dissenters. It goes without saying, he couldn''t dream of any artistic endeavors, for even paper was under a ban. However, Parajanov found a solution, a creative one! He literally "created" a few decks of playing cards using matchboxes and breadcrumbs.

Presently one of these decks is exhibited at the Bidspirit auction. Another popular one is presented in the Parajanov Museum in Yerevan. There is no doubt that many admirers of the great director would love to have at least a copy of this rare item. That's why, for the 30th anniversary of the Parajanov Museum, SHARM Holding came up with a limited edition of the Master's cards. They are made according to sketches of the original cards, which are kept in the museum.
Deck can be purchased here: https://4u.am/en/product/playing-cards- ... de-in-jail
Printed in 2021 and handle similar to USPCC. Tuck also has slight embossing.

A photo of some of the original cards on display in the museum. The originals are on a textured matchbox paper which look incredible in person. Photo by me.

Hobby Horse playing cards with artwork by Nicholas Thompson-Moore and produced by Michael Evans in a limited edition of 350 packs, 1986.

The full deck is comprised of 60 cards (52 + 7 jokers + 1 numbered card). This deck is missing the numbered card. I bought this because of how wacky and creative it was.

More about this deck can be found here, including a newspaper article from the producer: https://www.wopc.co.uk/uk/hobby-horse-playing-cards

I'd especially love to find Nursery Rhymes, Greek Myths, Kings Nights & Dragons, The 1001 Nights, Sherlock Holmes

It's incredible to see her still creating decks after 34 years. Is there anyone out there that comes even close?
