New DOTY? What's the deck in your mind ?

Just noticed there's a new DOTY Instagram account said this year P52 won't tied the DOTY.
but still the same team running the tournament ?

Alex (P52) never really ran the awards. He just slapped the P52 label on them so, I guess there're still the same folks behind the DOTY.

Nobody ever said the UC community couldn't keep doing it's own DOTYs. Ultimately, the reason we stopped was nobody here was interested in driving that particular bus after Alex started paying others to run it under the P52 banner.

If someone here wants to set up another go at it consisting of UC members as the voters, go for it.

Knowing might be exaggorated but I'd bet money on Amy and the instagram bubble she moved on to, after going silent on UC.

She is no longer involved and hasn't been for some time. Last year (I think? Maybe the year before?) Alex had brought in someone like a co-sponsor or the like to help him run the show, but the coordination last year didn't go smoothly on the P52 site, so the person who co-ran it with him is now running it without him given his (Alex's) disappearance. Someone recently reminded me of who that was; I'll go look at my DMs and report back.

All that said, I agree with the sentiment that the extent to which we don't know what's going on, it's really a different animal from what it was. C'est la vie.

I find limited use in the deck of the year - though I am sure its nice to win, there are always at least three decks that deserve top honors for one reason or another and it ends up being a case of choosing the favorite child.

What I do find useful are more inclusive lists of all the best decks produced over the course of the year - more info for collectors to refer to as the years go on and look for old gems

So I guess its the list of contenders I find more valuable than the single winner.
