Hmm... rehashed courts for a Golden Era deck and no real tuck design? Certainly a point of view but not one I would choose.
Same goes for something new to the table. 21 plates? Impressive (and I worked in the print business), no doubt, but it's nothing really new. That's like me putting two extra wheels on my car and pretend to have revolutionized the car industry. No big deal if someone (understandably) loves everything about Lotrék but meanwhile I sit there comparing Silk with the Royal Silk and wonder where the progress is. Then you read an update and that a deck has a bend... just like past decks. Nothing that irks me at all because I can understand why there is bleed through, bends and all other stuff but I'm kinda baffled to hear terms like new, progressing and alike 🤷🏿‍♀️.
Point being, I have no issue with eating the same meal over and over again but don't sell it as progressive, new, revolutionary, visionary to me.

LOL kevork, pumpers are always gonna pump

for someone that has been revolutionizing the printing industry for almost 8yrs now, he sure hasn’t mastered the simple print, cut, put in a box and ship let alone making decks without bends in them.

the warping of cards sounds like a piss poor excuse to me considering all the other delays

warping of cards happens when you have a bad mix of humidity and poor air quality. Are these decks being produced in the amazon jungle with a humidity index of 70%??

how many other times have decks been delayed due to foiling issues?? Many…. Have money decks have been delayed bc of warping? Not many is the answer

at the end of the day, the truth is the man has printed more decks in 2022/2023 to sell on his site on the backs of his “supporters” then what patreons have actually received for the monies being billed for and what was PROMISED by Lotrék himself. No one else

I don’t know about those decks that he sold screwing his patreon - and I am happy to have them - rather than just 2 decks per year I have a nice collection of Lotrek decks such as Teal and Royal silk, the new Icons - happy to have them - with 0 fear he will screw me on the patreon decks.

As for warping - KW & Thirdway both warped a deck or two recently - Legends has done it - last packs from DMC did it for a day, then went flat (no others went flat)

But please, don’t let me interrupt the hanging…

Man, patreon and the membership pricing is whack as hell, I cannot find a way to revert to my original golden patron price. This is getting absurd.

Fair. Your take on the situation is not one that I disagree with but have a hard time agreeing with wholeheartedly. I am newer into the collecting sphere, so perhaps it's a naivete of a fresher mind.

Well, with certain decks, it seems that his printing time is actually quite quick. Gilding requires outsourcing and a time delay there, but otherwise, he can churn out a deck in about 2 weeks. Seems like the shipping delays are insane too with GW poorly handling Oath projects.

I'm pretty sure the prices went up by a dollar a deck per month for this new year. So if your pledge tier has 12 decks, the price went up $12 a month, etc. I'm not sure if Patreon continues to charge patrons the old price if you change nothing.

Once you hit the submit button on the checkout page you have agreed to pay the new currency exchange price book. No way around that after the fact. If the dollar continues to strengthen against the euro, you may get an opportunity to lock in a lower price if they update their exchange book.

Alternatively, you can opt to pay in euros and allow your credit card/bank to asses the exchange rate and any associated fees. This link has instructions on how to adjust your payment currency. If you do adjust your payment currency, be sure to click on the drop down menu box labeled “choose what you pay” on the checkout page after you have changed your preferred currency. If they have not fixed the glitch I found, failure to click on that menu could add money to your pledge unbeknownst to you.

Actually, come to think of it, I would recommend that everyone click on that box when making any changes at all, because the glitch appears to have added money to my pledge last year when all I did was reselect my tier.

Everyone who has changed their tier over the last month should go back and try re-selecting their current tier and clicking on that menu box in the checkout page to see if it changes the total cost.

Looking at the tier prices through the app (where I see them listed in euros), the prices have never changed. The only thing that has fluctuated is the exchange book that Patreon uses to calculate converted prices. Once you agree to a price (including the current exchange rate), that price will be locked in until YOU make any changes. This pertains to updating your form of payment, changing tiers, or any new patrons just signing up.

If you have access to Revolut, it's a prepaid debit card that lets you pay in a lot of native currencies for very low margin. I use it a lot for this purpose. It's available in the UK, US and most of EU (I believe) at a minimum.

Patreon is the appropriate platform for communication with patrons. Any expectation of communication here is unreasonable. That said, I do wish there was more communication. It would make the patron experience more exciting and enjoyable, even if that communication included reasons for delay.

In particular, the lack of communication surrounding year three rewards, even as the year concludes, leaves us all guessing as to if he has even thought about it yet. I’m sure he has, but sharing those thoughts would go a long way towards keeping morale high and maintaining excitement for what’s to come. I guess year three rewards are/were the next Lotrek mystery decks. Assuming they can be ready in the next few months, he should build some excitement for them with some tantalizing teasers and send them out without revealing much of anything.

Even though Lotrék has been active here in the past, I for my part never expect a creator to come to a public forum and I never ask anyone to explain themselves publically. There're other channels for that, like the official channels he uses: email and patreon. Which in my experience were sufficient whenever I had trouble with Oath deliveries. Lotrék just recently fixed a problem for me asap and to my full satisfaction. So Lotrék not communicating is a stark exaggoration. A smart man chooses the battlefields he steps on and despite him being god aweful with timelines and expectation management, I still am under the impression that he is quite smart.

to be clear, from my end, this was a general statement. not a statement directed at lotrek posting on UC or even patreon. i just dont buy being busy as an excuse to not communicate or respond. even in my personal life. NOBODY is so busy that they do not have 30 seconds or a couple minutes to respond. perhaps they can be too busy in a specific time chunk but over the course of a day? nah, you have 30 seconds. even a few minutes. a person may have no desire to respond, no motivation to respond, i totally get that. that happens to me all the time. but no time, too busy? :ugthink: that is just an easy excuse that i personally do not buy. especially when it stretches to days, weeks, months.

Historically, he has been good about replying via Patreon; however, I sent him a message a few weeks back asking about the status of an order and did not get a reply. I followed that up earlier today. Hoping to hear from him soon.

I barely use Patreon as it's a hassle on the app so, I old-school email him.

When it comes to dms I can only tell what happens to me quite often: I get the notification in a moment I can't reply but due to having checked the message, it's not unread anymore and so I might forget about it entirely when other chats in messenger apps rise to the top. I'm an average social person so, when that happens to me, I can see that happening to a kinda public person with a lot more of incoming messages quite easily. Not an excuse since business should be business but a pov regardless.

Redemption II has the Oath Players with alternate foil, but the teaser image looks to me like an Oath in the vein of Royal Silk. It looks like Redemption VI will be, what is now, another test print of Patrons Edition Year 1.....I think....

The Patreon decks have become so astonishingly confusing. Just when I think I understand what's going one, it gets more confusing ;)

I had completely forgotten about that video clip. I have the memory of a gnat. Thank you for clarifying. I suppose now Im confused on how many more Redemption decks there are in the queue. He said with the delivery of rewards, the Redemption decks will end. I suppose initially that was to be by the end of the month, but clearly thats not happening. Sounds like there are at least 2 more and maybe more if he keeps the delays coming

I'm barely keeping track of every update - mostly due to them not holding reliable information - so, grain of salt advised but I remember that Redemption was originally for year 1 Patreons and goes as long as year 1 rewards aren't shipped out.

Year 1 and Year 2*. He hasn't been following the one-per-month schedule he originally aimed for, but free decks are free decks. Now Year 3 is delayed too, so I wonder if he's contemplating if he should give free Redemption decks to Year 3 as well or not.

It's nice to see others are getting their issues with orders resolved. I'll try to email Lotrek again next week if I don't hear back.

Who would have guessed... another promise made broken. Not that I really care for the Redemption decks anyways but why do people keep making promises that they can't keep goes beyond me - especially after having supervised multiple book projects in the print industry.
If I wouldn't have a job I like, I would urge Lotrék to hire me as his print manager. Although... I could imagine the pay would come as on time as his decks, haha.
