The 17th Kingdom by Stockholm17

We have a name! Introducing The 17th Kingdom (Experimental). Let me explain. This started as an experiment with shaped poker size cards and it is going to be the Patreon 2022 deck for my patrons. I am experimenting with custom shapes and the final printed product will tell me how good or bad is the idea. πŸ€” It is important to explore new roads even if they lead to a dead end… let’s see how it goes. So far it looks interesting and I am sure my patrons will enjoy this deck in their annual package. This is a Patreon exclusive for 2022. Let’s see if in 2023 I can take this concept for a regular variant. I hope you like it!
I'm still holding out hope for a name change...

What Omar said β˜πŸΏπŸ’―!
Loved seeing these on Patreon and never been happier that I finally joined this year; after contemplating/procrastinating about it for 3, 4 years, haha.
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

This is probably the most productive I've ever seen Lorenzo, he's knocking this one out really quick. Great design!
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

2022 is probably the best time to jump on S17. He's on fire and really cranking out some really great work.

So glad to be on board this year after seeing what Patrons were getting last year. Although it's only been 3 months plus into 2022, what Lorenzo has revealed so far for this year's package is simply :chef's kiss:

I'm assuming the tier that gets this deck is full? Only the $2/month tier shows up on his Patreon at the moment.

It's not really about it being full; he closes them after a month or so of people signing up so he can work out the yearly rewards.

This is my third year in Lorenzo's patreon and he does not disappoint with his yearly rewards. It seems that this year he's getting a particularly creative burst of inspiration with his products. I can't wait to see what else he comes up with. Money well spent in my opinion. And he is so darn likeable! Class act, and obviously at the top of his game at this stage.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Another thing he is the best at is bringing his Patrons along during the design process and keeping us informed.

You can still join in and try to get one of the extra bundles from the higher tiers the next year. This year, he released the 2021 extras in Jan for 48 hrs with a special discount code for the Pips tier to get them at the appropriate price. So it's not too late as you'll get a good chance to get 1 bundle at almost the same price as what a higher tier will pay monthly.

I missed out on the first year, but I don't kick myself over it, because I hopped on as soon as I was able, and it's been a fun ride ever since. You should do the $2 level, @wingedpotato, and you'll be in-the-know to make sure you can hop on board at the next opportunity.

If it weren't for LotrΓ©k and Lorenzo I would have left cards behind already.

I said they're the general reason I still like cards. They are far from being a reason to buy a or keep a deck.
I sold e.g. my Crypt and Standard Gold on Gold. I guess this disqualifies me as a LotrΓ©k fan but I dislike blind brand loyalty and excessive fandom anyways, so I'm happy to not be in that conversation. If a deck isn't πŸ’― to my taste I simply don't buy it anymore.
If it gives you solace, Tempest was close to be grabbed.

What I'm finding is my collection has hit a saturation point where almost every new deck feels like a variation on something I already have. It is very rare to see a design that is so good and different that I feel like I need to own it. Lorenzo really does vary his output without forfeiting his signature style.

This deck is super fun, and I opened the one that came with my annual Patreon kit, but I can tell the tuck is not likely to last too many attempts to open.

Does anyone know if the surplus decks that are being sold also have the matte yellow edge printing / gilding?

I could be mistaken but I believe they all have the edge printing as its a print run of 1000 decks and only 550 patrons I think so still alot left over

17th Kingdom Experimental is now on sale on S17's website here :https://www.stockholm17.cards/collectio ... om-ltd1000

$33 per deck, ships from Germany. Max 2 decks. Don't forget to use your Patreon discount code if you're a Patreon.
If I recall correctly, he said that there was about 100 decks leftover, not sure how long this will last.

Also in the works...
The carat case is a sample from @caratcasecreations and this will be available much later when I structurally redesign the tuckbox in a better way.

Because of it's odd shape, I think it would be easiest to design a tuck that opens on it's side (edge). I am looking forward to that sweet carat case though.
