I'm not sure whether it's intentional but the gold ink (foil?) is strange, it doesn't look gold unless it's directly reflecting light

Oh those are nice. I love red cards. Yes it's strange because I don't even like the color red. Thanks for sharing these pics.

These cards really look awesome... except, I just don't like the style of illustration for the courts. If it weren't for that, I'd be scrambling to get these into my collection right now, because everything else about this is candy for the eyes.

That's something new. Rather than posters or even T-shirts, it's the 1st I've seen anyone offer only beach towels instead of those usual options.

Maybe it's just me, but the Red tuck looks like the Chinese New Year ang pows (Red packets) to me. Heck, the card backs themselves looks like they could be use a 'fu' (talisman/charm) for the Gueng Si.

I can just imagine a new vampire movie using these decks as charms and a cardistry move to shoot them out at the vampires. (Yes, I grew up in the 80's, the hey-days of Hong Kong vampire movies. )

The Western Vampires deck was just released through Murphy’s, so you should be able to get it from their resellers soon

Vampire The Torpor Black Playing Cards

Unread post by Artiphany »

Hi All,
Vampire The Torpor is a deck project by Geung Si Playing Cards & Vampire Playing Cards. They are a cool contrast to the vampires and other characters I am designing for my new/revised deck, Bag of Bones. This deck was designed by Sin Yee Lam and produced by HypieLab Company. As you can see by the photos below, they are stunning. But I'm debating whether or not to buy them, with a price tag of nearly $45. What do you think?

I think these are great. Unfortunately, the printing information about Hypie Lab's premium decks is always a little bit nebulous. "Printed in China on black core German casino stock" I THINK means WJPC, although they never mention names. What I can tell you is that they handle well, the shimmering gilding is nice and the cold foil on the faces really makes them shine. However, as someone who also bought the regular premium editions, I would've been fine sticking with those and passing on Torpor. Not a must-have as far as I'm concerned.
