Broken Crown Playing Cards by Jenny & Mark Fallis

Unread post by Harvonsgard »

Coming to Kickstarter on the 10th of November. Quirky and fun deck. Not for everyone for sure but I like the handillustrated, quirky and weird style a lot.

I like this deck a lot. The shown court cards are great looking. I also think the back looks great with the exception of the creators initials used in the circle. I don't care for that.

Those faces are weirding me out, but I like the overall design. That box is dope.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

I gotta say that these are very nice, but again, just not for me.

Heck yes on the courts which look wonderful, but the tuck needs more contrast or embossing to pop.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

I don't know how they can make all of the cards so colorful but then only use 2 colors on the tuck. Shameful. For $16 per deck (or $13 each if I want 2 which I don't), shipped I'd want the tuck to be better. I'd like to pledge but I'm out for now.

Contrast is a good thing, especially in that case imo. I like that tuck with the cards. I still hate Mark for not going borderless with this back design, but I still like the deck - and the tuck, haha.

Full Deck Scan: https://cardscans.piwigo.com/index?/cat ... ken_crowns

Notes: Another deck that took me by surprise. This is a perfect summer deck. The yellow on the tuck is a lemonade yellow with teal. The cards have a light sandy background color, and the back and courts are very reminiscent of doodles you might make in a restaurant while your waiting for your food arrive. A surprisingly refreshing, weird deck.

Thank you for the scans as always! I can't wait for mine :ugdance:
