Hello from Oregon!
Hi everyone!
My name's Brian Sarlo and I am a new hybrid collector. I am still learning about all different cards and their history. I am happy and honored to have met some of the moderators on this site at the 52 Plus Joker 2020 Online Convention.
I hope to meet many more of you and talk cards!
I also do IT stuff.

Re: Hello from Oregon!
Welcome, Brian!
Good to see you here as well
I lurked most of the convention since there were so many people talking at once. Hopefully there'll be more frequent virtual conventions like they talked about.
Good to see you here as well

Welcome to UC Brian. While I ilve in the US, it will be hard for me to attend the 52+ Joker convention in person. I am glad you got a chance to attend the virtual convention. I think it really opened the convention up to many more people, especially folks outside the US. Well, since you want to talk cards, you are in the right place!

Any specific forums you suggest?

Next year's convention is scheduled to be in Niagara on the US side, but I'm pretty sure there will be a virtual component. I had blast this year even though it was 100% virtual.
There will hopefully be some virtual meetups before then too!
Thanks for the welcome!
Do you have any particular forums you frequent?
Fes,
I'm so new to collecting that I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute. I'll likely lurk around for a while. Same Q to you : where do you hang out around here?

Re: Hello from Oregon!
"New & Custom" is the main highway, every deck gets its own thread to be discussed.bsarlo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:06 pmSweet! I knew there would be more peeps from the conference here.MagikFingerz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:06 am Welcome, Brian!

"General Playing Cards Discussion" has most other card related topics; there's a "Here's what I added to my collection"-thread you could post your recent "mail day hauls" in, and there's usually some inquisitive posts (calls for help identifying a deck, or surveys on what people like or have experience with) that everyone can contribute to.
"Show us your cards" is a section where everyone can have their own thread to showcase their collections/displays, feel free to post there, regardless of the age/size of your collection
The "Custom Deck Drafting Board" is where designers post works in progress for instant feedback from as many as possible, also a good place to post and contribute.
And the "General" is for anything non-card related, so if you have other interests there are threads for that there (Comics and Superhero movies, Alcohol/Spirits, Hiking, Hockey to name a few). Or you could create a new one to see if there are others who share whichever hobby/interest you have

Re: Hello from Oregon!
Being a modern playing card kinda feller, I'm usually in the playing cards section there somewhere snooping about. (new and custom, general, drafting board) Can spend a good amount of time digging around in the various threads wondering how I missed this of that and why I don't have it in my collection.
