Deck prototyping in Australia (easy2print)
This might be a useful info for designers based out of Australia. I found this Queensland based company & getting them to print a prototype deck. Will update when I've got the decks in hand but here is the link.

Interesting, I'd be interested to know if the tuck is gloss or matte as it doesn't say, I got a prototype from MPC once with a matte tuck but either they screwed up or it shines almost as much as gloss!

Re: Deck prototyping in Australia (easy2print)
I didn't go with tuck printing as their template was quote different and would have lead me to expand more effort in fitting the tuck design from Legends template to theirs. I am just printing the cards through them in a plain white tuckbox.Adonael wrote:Interesting, I'd be interested to know if the tuck is gloss or matte as it doesn't say, I got a prototype from MPC once with a matte tuck but either they screwed up or it shines almost as much as gloss!
This is how their quote looked like initially and I think they can do matte laminated tuck.
Size
: poker sized
Paper/Stock
: 350 gsm
Sides/Pages
: 54-55
Coating
: Matte
Lamination
: Matte
I will ask them on the matte tuckbox once they respond back on my current order.

Re: Deck prototyping in Australia (easy2print)
Received the 4 prototype decks from easy2print today.
These are printed on a digital press using 350 GSM stock without any embossing. I loved their work and glad to find such a printer here in Australia itself.
Seems like they did a mistake while transferring the files onto their template, check the pips on 10 of Spades. I am not complaining as I am happy with this prototype with that error. That said, this is the first time that I've got an errored card in a prototype and so, these 4 prototypes will be very special to me.

Looks like the Jc is having a registration problem also. One staff goes all the way to the edge and the other one doesn't. Also the J looks closer to the edge on the one that does and farther away than the one that doesn't...which makes me think the image is not centered properly.

Yep, you are correct. There is, indeed, a registration issue seen clearly in JoC and JoD but the illustration centering is correct in the main file as an example below.kem-collector wrote:Looks like the Jc is having a registration problem also. Is the diamond on the Jd supposed to be different on each one? One diamond looks like it has accents on each point and I really like that. The other one seems to be missing them. Also, and maybe I am missing something, but I am used to one-eyed Jacks being spades and hearts. Having one of the Jacks have one eye on the Diamond doesn't sit too well with me.

That's one great attention to detail @kem-collector. I reviewed the main file again and was glad to find that I didn't miss the accents. It is a low resolution pic above and seemed like it doesn't show those clearly.kem-collector wrote:Is the diamond on the Jd supposed to be different on each one?
