Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
More cards! Not much of a theme today, just some randos from the collection.
2 Aristocrat "Twin-Dex" packs, most likely from late 20s, early 30s based upon the Auction Bridge scorecard. Contract bridge supplanted auction bridge in the early 30s, so all the bridge scorecards with decks changed to contract bridge. Interesting that they have different aces, but I did note that the second set of decks are not red and blue as stated on the box. Next up three different decks of C.M.&St.P.Ry. railroad souvenir cards - Lake Michigan to Puget Sound. Just love the way the electricity crackles on these card backs. Set of Fournier 818 poker decks in a paper wrapper, one still sealed. I have no idea when these are from, but thought the paper "box" was notable.

And a deck of 1909 No. 1112 (11 and 12, get it) from NYCCC. I tried playing poker with a 500 deck once. Once.
And a great assortment of 1920s Congress 606 decks, all gilded. Backs are Winter, November, Moonlight, Muse, The Rivals and Polly.

First, a few more c1900 Bicycle decks - red and blue Automobile No. 1 and a green Rider deck.
But, this is one I've been wanting for a long time: my first Willis W. Russell deck, and it is a beauty. Great "Saber"back design, excellent condition, gilded, long-distance pips, box and joker. Very nice.

Some more antique decks, starting with a set of Washburn advertising decks from the late 1890s, most likely printed by USPC. Great Ace and slogans on the court cards.
Next, another advertising deck - Heckers' flour from American Playing Card Co, c1910
Then a custom deck for St. Nicholas by Andrew Dougherty with an Indicator joker,
And finally another Andrew Dougherty deck with the Patented ace and Jolly Joker

Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
Here are a few rarities from my KEM collection. I've only come across these once, so I picked them up.
First off, the 1937 LUCITE container with a set of Duchess cards, the KEM ROYAL Gift set. The ad is from November, 1937. (Unfortunately, my Duchess cards are from a later date than the container). And next, the first tuck box I've ever seen for KEM cards. Not sure of the date, as the KEM Spade Ace and replacement cards have an unusual date code (K152116), but no bar code anywhere. Maybe 60s, 70s?

Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
If the date code is similar to that of Bicycle the K would correspond to the years 1907, 1928, 1948, 1968 or 1988. My guess would be 1948 given it says "copyright 1947" on the "KEM SERVICE CARD". Although 1968 and 1988 are also possible. A tax stamp would make it easier to date (If there was one it would definitely be 1948 and if not definitely 68/88). But it looks like any seal/stamp has been removed.
The contents of the booklet might also reveal more date information.

Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
I checked the booklet, no date. But, I may be able to track down through my archive of ads as to when they started using that booklet. I think it’s newer than 1948, just based on the vibe I’m getting from the box. I’ll post what I find out.
Research complete ............................ booklet first produced around 1958, and I could find examples online going up to 1965.

The humble ARRCO Streamline. I put this together to try and show the evolution of the Streamline decks over time. Oldest tuck box is top left, getting newer as you move to the right. Every deck after 1st tuck has the standard Streamline back. Interesting that it was more than 25 years before they put the name of the deck on the Ace of Spades. Enjoy.

Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
Ok. So I was premature with my posting of Streamline tucks. I found two more and added them to the collection. The first Streamline tuck with the suit signs on the front is c1977 based on newspaper advertising. The last tuck is after USPCC bought ARRCO in 1987. I am still missing the four index tuck, but I have the cards and I found an image online.

Since I've been posting non-poker size decks, here are a few more: matched set of Columbia Whist dated 1919 from USPCC, four decks of early Blue Ribbon 121 Whist decks (the ones on top are older, and I think the very first Russell Blue Ribbon tucks, set underneath is a little less old with Class A tax stamps), and a set of Russell Bridgit (or what I like to call the narrow Torpedo)

Chuqii, I'v been reading the thread and love the information and pictures of all the Kem's. Do you happen to have any knowledge on the two decks below?
The first one has a date code of 251. The second set has a date code of 1195 and looks a lot like the Crown and Anchor Society logo (Royal Caribbean). Any help would be appreciated!

Taking it old school today.
Early Mauger deck with Mauger logo but still mentioning Goodall and Son, c1875 A Russell & Morgan Printing Co Capitol deck with cool R&M Co monogram, c1886. Note the "M" in both the Mauger and Capitol decks looks very similar. Three sets of Dougherty Outing decks, c1895. First is gilded.
Enjoy!

Re: [Chuqii] KEM collection and more (now with antiques)
I got tired of all of my decks laying flat, so I went looking for a way to stand them up. Best affordable option I found so far is plastic cell phone stands. Just want to pass along the tip. I'm still reworking the display case with the stands, but really liking the increased visibility for the decks. I bought a big box of the taller stands on DHGate for about $.75 each, so real cost effective. The smaller ones I got on eBay for around $1 each. The only drawback is that some of my older decks are too thick and won't all fit, but I just let a few cards slide off, put the Ace of Spade in front, and put a small vintage die to hold it all in place. Even works for old poker chip boxes. Enjoy.
