Reading the quest has already been solved by more than three people and a possible raffle for the rest who will finish?

Can someone please confirm? Thank you.

Yup, I know one friend who's in the top three, and if you finish the quest, you get the direct message on the page saying that the three has already been claimed but raffle is undergoing, so keep probing ;)

Awesome! I'll wait for the reveal though. Congrats to the first three winners, and frankly anyone that solves it on their own. :D

I second this. I thought I was doing ok until I couldn't work out how to position the second Enigma? :?
I am sure I will kick myself when the reveal happens.

Lol, I never did receive any email about it, even though I bought the decks within minutes of them being available.

Did anyone pick up one of the four mixed brick boxes Lorenzo had on sale today?

Also, if anyone missed them, Room17 decks are still on sale with a little less than 200 still available. Also, there are nearly 350 standard Cartomancer decks for sale (@ $24 each) and over 100 Faro editions (@$19 each) also on sale on the website.

Interesting all this hasn't sold out yet. Are people's wallets hurt? Is the market speaking to us and trying to dictate how much is too much? Is this just one-too-many of a similar thing that has run it's course? I wonder.

It is true that this a reprint with gilding. So likewise as I've critiqued on some other threads, it's natural the market will determine the sales by its fatigue ;) But it doesn't worry me, because it'll eventually sell out in the long run, like the previous HotRS Cartomancer (took a while before it went completely out of stock on the market).

$45 is a steep price, even though it is gilded and has such a nice tuck box (and an extra card). I only picked up 2 for my display case, so I won't even be opening one...

We have had so many enquiries for the Cartomancer since Lorenzo won deck of the year, I thought at least the Catomancer would of moved far quicker then it has. Perhaps it has something to do with Black Friday fast approaching? Perahaps due to 90% of the enquiries I had being from Europe, some are hoping to see European stock appear at some point?

I wouldn't agree it's the costing. There are plenty of decks out there that cost more than this deck and are nowhere near as beautiful.

For me, these being the same Cartomancer cards, gilded and in a new tuck is not something I am interested in paying that much for. If Cartomancer didn't exist I would be all over this. That is one of, if not, my favorite decks of all time.

Likewise, Gio being my favorite designer, I did not purchase the last couple of 4th decks on the Order and Betrayers because they were the same cards as another deck in the series in a different tuck.

I understand the designers desire to do something with the overruns they do quite well with it. To me, having the same cards with a premium or premium plus price for a tuck swap is something I can do without in my collection with so many different decks out there.

Perhaps others feel the same and that is why they are not sold out.

Being one of Lorenzo's Patreon backers really turned out nice with this offering, so I picked up a couple as an easy purchase.

I am surprised too that for those that balk at the $45 for the gilded version, that they don't snap up some of the regular Cartomancer decks at $24, which seems quite good given what they are selling for now in the secondary market. This should be the "go to" place to get the Cartomancer and Faro versions of HotRS decks until they are gone.

I thought the Occultus deck was a fairly good buy at $17 as it allowed me to buy one (or more) that had the same cards as the Electus deck, which was fairly limited and expensive) at a lower cost point to open and enjoy the Electus cards.

Not a chance that's the reason. The amount of people who feel that way I imagine would be very small. Because if it wasn't, then there would be almost no demand for limited, collectors or special etc versions of decks, just the standard because they have the same cards. I don't buy cards, and I don't buy tucks, I buy a complete design and artwork package, they are not separate things. If the tuck changes that makes it a different deck, if the cards are gilded, particularly in this case where it will interact with and elevate the foiling on the cards, that also makes it a different deck. The elements of the art and design interacting with eachother in different ways produces a different result.

I already said over a month ago that the Room17 wouldn't sell out quickly, in fact it's been quicker than I thought, and it's good (to a point) to have products available in store long-term. I was surprised by the Cartomancer though, I did expect that to sell out given the apparent demand which has seen aftermarket prices become quite high leading up to the restock. But there were also a hell of a lot produced during the KS so saturation isn't exactly all the lacking despite not many wishing to part with the ones they already have. Anyone can see the prices are fantastic, no complaints there of course for what we get. Something selling out in a day or two is an unrealistic measure of success.

Room17 is uniquely different for me due to the text that actually is a full story and explanation of the backstory of the House of the Rising Spades if you manage to complete the quest... I haven't been such mindblown for a long time towards the creativity and intelligence that's dedicated to a quest and codex. For me, these elements alone entirely justify the price: I consider myself paying for an interactive D&D-styled fantasy storybook.

Of course, there'll always be customers who just think that this tuck swap is nothing more than a cash grab. But that's how it is if one can't appreciate the artistic, linguistic, and narrative depths of this particular edition.

Lorenzo revealed the solution to the quest in an email.

Personally I like the idea of a quest and tried to find the solution for a couple of hours, but absolutely hate that Instagram was used for a part of the solution. I don't like Instagram, don't use it and will not be a part of it no matter what. So this quest sucks for me.

Congrats to all that were able to solve it.

I guess most of you will have been sent the solution now.

That IG clue is so obvious now  Problem is those numbers added up to 57. Card 57 had the extra clue for the first Engima. So my braincell thought Card 33 must have a clue where to position the second Enigma over the tuck.

I knew the alphabet from the Cartomancer puzzle using the Sator Square from the Heretic Lux seal.
Oh well, I said I was rubbish at these things

I could find two people out of any 50 (for example) with a differing opinion to the rest, doesn't mean it matters or is statistically relevant. That's part of my point, although it seems to have flown over the heads of some who apparently have very high opinions of themselves...

Anyway, regarding the Quest solutions, I never had a chance of winning anything because I was asleep, but the next day the missing piece for me was instagram, which I am completely unfamiliar with using so I would have been screwed anyway lol. I figured out the Sator Square was involved without it, but instagram didn't even cross my mind to be honest.

I managed to solve it just in time. I solved the story first, which actually caused me to stutter on the Sator square (say that 5 times fast) because I had no idea what it was. Basically I used the story to decode the Enigma 1, instead of the other way around.

But, after Googling a few things, I stumbled across the Facebook post with the Heretic box. Which led me to the Enigma 2 solution. And honestly, that was a very clever solution.

So basically, I brute-forced it the wrong way, got confused, got incredibly lucky, got impressed, and managed to barely complete it. So, yeah, my life in a nutshell.
This is me, though I really should update me.

Not that it would have mattered. I think he could have sent me the keys to put in and I would still get it wrong. :ugthink:
