I wanted to share this here. I'm pretty proud of it, considering I have no woodworking experience. It was a fun project and I will likely create a new/improved version down the road to display more of my decks that don't fit on this shelf.
I cut a slight curve and installed enough dividing rods to hold 34 decks. The rods were just simple welding rods I got off of Amazon. I cut them to size and roughed them up with sandpaper for a "brushed nickel" kind of look. I also added a layer of scotch tape to protect the bottom of my decks from the wood stain for now. It's completely dry and has a clearcoat, but I want to be overly cautious for now I hope you like it!
That is an awesome display case. You get a lot of decks in by showing sideways, and I like the rods that separate the decks so they are not right next to each other. Excellent.

Simple and works well, looks better than anything plastic, I like the curve and how they're divided. I designed my own over a year ago but I'll never get to build it until we buy our first house and set up a workshop which hopefully isn't too far in the future, can't wait! I believe when we have an idea it's released into the world, so if you don't bring it into reality first someone else will, maybe it's superstition but I was relieved when I saw yours was a unique take totally different to mine haha.
How are you mounting it flush to the wall? It must be quite heavy with the decks in.
Make sure you share your creations when it's time! I am going to work on a few more ideas and see if I can't fine-tune the process

The weight isn't as bad as you would think. It's just pine wood, so the shelf itself is very light. I just got a router and it's first use was to sink a couple of keyhole hangers into the top piece about 1/8". The hangers were set 16" apart and centered on the back, then I took some long wood screws and drilled into two studs and left them poking out a bit to catch the keyhole. You actually have to slide this shelf horizontally to disengage.
wow, this looks really great Bacon! I really love seeing how people display their decks, but it also makes me kinda ashamed that mine aren't better out to be ogled lol... regardless, it always gets me excited with ideas from seeing everyone else's. Really nicely done and, like Brad said, I too like that the rods give a little space between each deck. Plus, as your collection grows, it'll be easy to make more like this... it looks like this one's already filled up so better start on the next one! lol
