Doesn't seem to say who will be printing these, or does SPCC print their own cards?
Kinda cool they went for a full customization of their courts, hopefully this would be their standard faces afterwards

We don't support these ass clowns around these parts, Decknowlegdy.

The creator(s) of this project are 100% douche bags who harass people, make threats to critics, and phish for people's personal information.

I very strongly advise against supporting this project.

I got to give them credit on good looking court cards, but I am not going to back this.

Ehhhh. I disagree on the courts "looking good". They look unfinished to me. Like there's a good concept there, but not enough designer. It's barely enough to make a single deck interesting enough to purchase, let alone three.

Not going to lie, I was like "Hey, these actually look pretty decent, nice tuck. Even if printed by a lower tier printer, would consider backing..."

Then, I noticed the name "SVI Group" and I couldn't remember why, but immediately my Spider Sense was like "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON, DANGER."

There are producers and artists that we've had disagreements with, but we're still respectful of them because we're respectable, respectful people. These guys, they don't mess around, and I'm not one to throw around the B-word as seems to be all the rage these days, but they do fit the bill for online bullying/harassment. No matter how good your designs are, I will not reward that kind of behavior with my business.

Other issues aside, the courts do look fantastic. There is something about the fonts that drive me up the wall. Dont know what it is, but I cannot stand them.

Pretty much my reactions as well. Maybe closer to:

It is not so much the SVI or the chosen printer, but this that is holding me back..
...I've started having more empathy for my wallet in my later collecting years.
I have not been collecting for near as long as MagikFingers, but I do have a fairly large collection. I am to the point where I go all in on some stuff, get one or two of some others and just am learning to not go for several others.

The courts are okay, but not so much. I do really like the Jack of Clubs expression (great job on that one). The color combination isn't doing much for me (too dark maybe). The pips are not exceptional. Font choice is nice. The tucks are a bit dark, but look great. The Classic back looks nice, but would be better as full bleed. The Art back just doesn't look great to me with that color combination. Maybe it is me. It just isn't forcing me to have to back it or I feel I am missing out on something really special.

I am passing as well.

I tend to selectively forget bad stuff. Not sure why, but it is the way my mind is wired. I tend to be a happier person as a result.

I went back and tried to find some old threads on "SVI". I went back too far, then hit the thread on Caribbean Wind.

I mean he got banned by Mike. That takes some serious effort. My apologies to those assaulted by this group.

Well, I need to make a distinction between the artist and the "security team" people. Obviously the guys who did the hack "fishing" attack and tried to extort money were not fighting a fair fight when they decided to go after people here, since I am a retired network security officer for the government, but they are not the same people doing the deck design and artwork.

Honestly I like these, albeit the font used for indices is certainly not my favorite. The artists should not suffer for something that was clearly outside their influence. When I checked behind this mess I found out that the "security" people had essentially stolen finished decks from the company. I figure there is no love lost between them and the design team.

Nature of the beast.

The SVI Group/Designer brought the "security team" into the whole mess, both users claiming that we don't have the rights to criticize them lol. You reap what you sow, right?

I don't really need to rehash the incidents regarding the SVI group that happened here at UC as a result of criticisms of their last project, nor go into details of the extent of their harassment, threats and cyber attacks I and others personally recieved as retribution from them outside of the public view of the forum and by other means across associated social medias and email accounts, but for having to dealing with all that, the SVI group (and frankly, anyone associated with them) can seriously f%*# themselves into oblivion and I sincerely hope, from the bottom of my heart, that they get bit by every cute dog they ever meet. hard.

For those that actually know me, I'm a pretty easy-goin' person and don't generally let disagreements/arguments bother me much - most certainly don't tend to resort to personal attacks, make such egregious claims or hold strong personal vendettas - but their actions are not to be taken lightly as their cyber attacks threaten the safety and security of the community as a whole and I would *strongly suggest* that EXTREME caution be taken in engaging/dealing with them in any way, shape or form; needless to say, I will NOT ever be backing or supporting any projects by these @ssholes, regardless of the artwork. I know that that may not be totally fair to the artists involved as they're not to be held responsible for the "security team's" actions, but that's just my stance and I won't ever support them in any capacity, directly or indirectly, for any reason whatsoever. period.

Coming from a layman collector, I thought the tuck box was intriguing and I really like the luxurious box set - very classy!
However, the card backs lost me. The classic backs are actually good, but not a big fan of the color scheme used or design of the art deck backs. Also, the jumbo pips and generic Sarif font seem pretty awful all around. They went through the trouble of updating the court cards but everything around those cards looks bad.

I was just going to share my thoughts but, DAMN, now I will have to look back and see what kind of drama I have been missing! Also, I love this forum so far. Some great insight into groups that should not have my support, whether they have a great deck design or not. Watching out for each other - pretty nifty.

Honestly, I couldn't remember what the issue was from this company, but when I reviewed the older threads I promptly went on KS and cancelled my pledge. No one should be threatened like that, so I stand with my UC brothers and sisters on this.

Keep in mind y'all that the actions of most serious nature committed by people of the SVI group were done privately through multiple anonymous accounts - at least 4 that we've been able link to them here at UC (all of which have been permanently banned) and 1 or 2 others that raised suspicion - along with others outside of this forum on other social media platforms. Prior to the particular incidents of the 'Caribbean Wind' thread that lead to their banning, they had a pattern of jumping quickly to hostility in response to criticism which often lead to personal attacks, but never anything as serious as cyber attacks attempted here and elsewhere.

Also, I really don't mean for my remarks to make me come across as a bitter or spiteful drama queen in saying all this but these aren't just trivial personal gripes nor do I want all this to reflect poorly on the community - on the contrary; I genuinely want nothing more than to help foster a positive place of open dialog in which we can build relations with creators/designers and provide honest feedback only with the intention of providing encouragement for improvement of their deck(s) and craft - and even if we all don't see eye to eye all the time, I never before this incident had I wished ill-will upon anyone regardless of whatever disagreements around here but these creeps are a threat to the community and hobby - obviously not just in harassing and threatening those that expressed criticism but also in stealing other designer's work and threatening extortion from even others - many of whom are allies to the community and support enthusiasts to keep everyone informed and safe since we are such a small but close-knit group.

I went through the Wild West and Caribbean threads - wtf did I just read?! That was so bizarre.

From the little I know about you, Amy, I can tell it would take a seriously toxic situation to have you respond the way you did. I think the way you responded to that piss stain was completely appropriate. You hold this community to a high standard and you have been nothing but helpful and completely dedicated to this community since I joined at the beginning of the year. Cheers to you and the others who spoke out, despite the threataning and bizarre messages on this forum and elsewhere. Cheers to Mike for recognizing the need to take action!

It's just too bad that their conduct doesn't seem to bother many people outside of UC.

They also use shill accounts on KS to inflate funding early on in their projects. They leave positive comments and drop pledges later on. I'm not speculating either - this has been confirmed. I investigated after we 3 (myself, Mike, Amy) left comments and were responded to by people (who would appear to not be SVI themselves) calling us liars, and alleging that we were trying to sabotage their campaign, despite having no reason to do so...

I very rarely, seriously, discourage people from supporting projects. I'll talk smack all day - you guys know that. It's up to you to put your money where you'd like. I cannot stress enough, though, how these people do not deserve a single cent from any collector/performer/player. They do not deserve a place in any playing card community.

Update on those Crown Jewel decks from SVI. Look like they're trying to go with Cartmundi for future scampaigns™. Thought this was mildly interesting:
Friends,

with great regret that we inform you about the circumstances that have developed around the Crown Jewels decks. After a spot check of the sealed decks, we found a manufacturing defect on parts of the circulation. Inaccuracy during the cutting of the deck, you can see it in the photo.

Based on this, we in no case cann't allow such decks to fall to you. We made decisions to stop the shipment and recall the parcels that have not yet left the countries arrived. Since 30 packages have already left the territory of the sending country, 30 backers will receive these decks. But don't worry. Now we are deciding the issue of reprinting the circulation, and we will send you additional, new high-quality decks. We ask for forgiveness and your understanding, and many thanks for the extra patience waiting for your decks. We will inform about the stages of printing the new edition and the beginning of sending the reprinted edition in the near future.

In connection with the problem, SVI Group decided to change the printer for further work. Most likely, the next project of SVI Group will be released jointly with the company Cartamundi, with which we are actively negotiating.

So the wannabe mobsters are no longer happy with their printers... Wonder what “methods” they are using to sort out the situation... Then again, don’t really care.
