You haven't considered using a shipping consolidator? That really helps cut the cost of shipping for international backers. But are you based in Taiwan or in Europe? Import taxes should have a much higher cap for us in the Far East compared to Europe.

Based in UK at the moment so import tax is always sth to consider. If I were back in Taiwan I wouldn't mind so much probably.

If you don't mind my asking, just how much is the import tax in UK and what's the cap before you get taxed? For Malaysia it's RM500 (inc of shipping) before you get hit with a 6% sst for cards.

Not sure if I'm getting this right, since the description is a bit complicated.

From what I understand, there's a VAT (value added tax) on goods (total value+shipping) sent from non-EU region above £15, and VAT itself is 20% of that value.

There will be an additional Customs Duty charge of 2.5% for goods+shipping that are between £135-£630.

This sounds about right to me.

In real terms here are a few examples of recent purchases where I got hit with taxes:

2018 NPCCD Decks (Mixed Brick) = £89.20 Tax / Approx $112
DB Gold Split Spades (1 Brick) = £12.56 tax / Approx $16
House of the Rising Spade (Mixed Brick) = £23.87 Tax / Approx $30
Kings Wild Subscription (4 Decks + 2 x Certificates) = £22.60 Tax / Approx $28

Don't forget this is all on top of the additional shipping fees we have to pay for being outside of the US

BTW Jackson that Limited Equinox Tuck looks stunning, can't wait to get my hands on that one :D

Those look fantastic :D

Is the limited deck going to be unsealed like Haunted 8s was? I normally hate seals but when you're offering display decks too, suddenly I want seals :P

I really like how those limited edition tucks turned out but the regular edition is not bad either.

I appreciate all the kind words.

In regards to shipping and the subscriptions...

I can't lower postage cost but I am in the process of overhauling how my subscription system handles shipping. It seems most of the subscription systems out there don't have the flexibility (when it comes to a robust shipping matrix) to handle how I am running things. I think I'm pretty close to finally having a system and method to handle all of the different and unique orders all of the subscribers have without charge an arm and a leg for multiple Standard and Limited Edt decks. More info to come shortly. This method will also include a quarterly delayed shipping method for International backers.

The shade of blue on these decks is GORGEOUS. I wish I could justify the $35 price tag.

Just saw the e-mail blast for subscribers. Has it been announced what color the gilding on the Equinox II will be? If it's gold or silver I can do without, but if it's blue I just might succumb.

Yes, the gilding colors will change. The March Equinox II gilding will be a cool shade of Blue. Kind of like an Aqua Blue. I'm actually getting three different samples in on Friday and I will most likely let the Subscribers of the Gilded Edition vote for which color they would like to see for the gilding. Some decks will be no brainers. The Labyrinth decks will be gilded in crimson red gilding.

So short answer, it won't always be just gold and silver. :)

I snagged a gilded subscription. Still 42 subscriptions available. It may be a bit tough for a lot of folks to afford with the regular subsciption as well. I get it for sure. I am groaning a bit myself.

Hm. Do you have to maintain a concurrent KWS LE subscription in order to subscribe for the gilded decks?

That is, let's say I have a subscription for the KWS limited (nonstandard, non-gilded) editions. Can I pick up the gilded subscription and then cancel my original subscription, for a total monthly cost of USD45+shipping? Or do I have to maintain the first subscription to keep the second one, at a total monthly cost of USD75+shipping? (I assume cancellation of the first subscription would render you ineligible for the 13th, end-of-year deck of either the gilded or nongilded variety.)

USD75 a month is more than I want to spend, but USD45 might be doable.

I would imagine you could definitely do that. I already have two regular subscriptions, so I am definitely considering dropping one of my regular subscriptions and the three subscriptions is getting really pricey. I do know you can drop your subscription, so I can see that definitely working. You probably should email Jackson just to make sure though.

If I had the extra cash I'd be tempted to subscribe to the gilded decks and sell the limited edition each month to offset the cost. Potential good news for people looking to pick up limited decks secondhand I guess?

OMG GILDED, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

Subbed.

Also, added a standard recurring edition. I am now seriously limiting my collecting to just the JR subscription stuff, and Lotrek.

In what I have to assume was an effort to avoid getting more e-mails from me, Jackson answered all the questions I posed above in another thread.

The blue gilding does sound tempting, for sure, but I think I have to stick with my original limited subscription just for the sake of that 13th deck at the end of the year. (I also really enjoy putting those little stickers on the certificate.) And I don't feel like I can justify the expense of both subs to myself. $900 per annum is just too large an earmark for what will only be a fraction of my deck purchases for the year.

I and the rest of the lumpen proletariat will just have to settle for whatever pictures Brad takes of his haul. :ugthink:

I ended up having 37 Equinox II Artist Proof decks.

Be sure to input the discount code ArtistProofShipping at checkout to get free shipping. It will be included in your March Subscription shipment.

Btw, I might have missed it, can someone educate this outsider (me) on what's the difference between the subscription version and the Artist Proof version? Different gilded colors?
