I've seen more pics and it's looking a lot more orange than olive, not sure how I feel about it.

I'm in for a gilded and premium, as usual. The contrast of the courts is good, but the tuck just doesn't look that great. I also like the copper gilding.

With all that venting, you got decks after all. ;)

I am in for a gilded and standard deck. I will let someone else get a pine box. I have his Texas deck in Pine, that is enough for me right now.

So Jackson is offering player's decks after the campaign and only on Backerkit. This seems to be a trend I'm seeing on multiple projects now where people are selling additional items related to the KS campaign but exclusively on Backerkit only. I'm surprised KS doesn't clamp down on this practice (being the greedy bastards they are) because they don't get a cut from any Backerkit sales. I've seen campaigns raise $60K on KS and an additional $20K on backerkit through add-ons.

I'm surprised Jackson hasn't done this sooner. Given the track record of the Tally series, he has to know it will fund, so why doesn't he set a low funding goal and only sell the standard decks on KS, and then offer the player's edition, gilded edition, and Legacy editions only though Backerkit as add-ons? This way KS only gets their hands on a smaller portion of Jackson sales and he pockets more profits through his Backerkit sales. Maybe Jackson needs to drink more of his own ridiculous coffee and wake up. . .

Don't give him ideas John. ;) I don't know how he'd keep track of Legacy if 50+ people bought it on Backerkit.

After his Federal 52 series he claimed he would never again use KS. After several more KS campaigns I called him out on it and he basically said he liked KS (if you search this forum hard enough you might be able to find the convo. I couldn't). Since KS takes 5-10% of all project proceeds (I forget exactly) and given that JR has taken almost every opportunity to charge premium prices, one can only assume that the only reason he creates KS campaigns is to reach a broad audience. Although he's had a few unsuccessful KS playing card projects, both of those decks eventually saw the light of day (Army and Silver Arrow). So it would be fair to say that every single deck he's put on KS has eventually funded, normally by a wide margin. With that type of support he must know that he has a large enough fan base to be able to self-fund decks that won't end up in surplus, not to mention save money on KS fees. The two main reasons I can think of to use KS is to fund a project you cannot afford on your own and to reach a large audience. Again, I think the later is Jackson's motivation for continuing to use KS. I am assuming that JR is good with money BTW..

Are you sure? I thought Kickstarter does get the final cut from Backerkit.

HOLY S^&*.

That guy needs a new hobby.

I mean, hey, there's historical evidence of me being unhappy with the premium series living on, but I am a backer, and I will be happy adding these to my collection. I'm not going to publicly humiliate myself and attack JR/his family. Some people seriously need some perspective...

I am glad I could read those posts as a disinterested bystander. If I was Jackson, I would be asking Kickstarter to ban him from their platform forever. Those posts should be removed. He seriously needs medical help amd I am not being funny about that. He really does need medical help.

I read Michael's comments and he's nuts! I don't get his complaining since the only other JR deck he pledged for was Maduro.

And you can read his old posts by clicking on his name then choose comments. I find it amusing he commented on Maduro "Hi Jackson, Your #1 fan and follower here. Great job, once again."

If he's JR's #1 fan he should know JR has been launching at 12 noon Central time.

Michael definitely behaves like a #1 fan.

I'm referring, of course, to Stephen King's novel Misery, his love letter to all those who brand themselves *his* #1 fan.

I didn't back this project but just now read through the comments section of the campaign to check out what y'all are talking about; all I have to say, is how low does someone have to sink to use an unborn child to insult a man... what a big baby! If this Michael dude truly was his biggest fan as he exclaims to be, he would've been following JR's social media and seen that this deck and the KS launch time was announced days ago.

Besides, even if it wasn't announced well in advanced, how entitled does one have to be to feel he in particular is so inherently deserving of JR launching this campaign at a time convenient to him - as if KS wasn't a crowdfunding platform for the rest of the world outside of his sphere of arrogant self-importance... ugh, I can't detest a rando online stranger more....

Funny thing is that Mike was complaining about not getting enough notice so that he could buy at regular prices instead of inflated eBay prices, but then goes on to boast how he sells all his stuff for 3-4 times more! What a doofus!

Made me laugh when I saw the postage cost for these.

He wants $15USD for one deck shipped to Australia.

Odissea, by comparison, is 5 euros - $5.91USD.

He should just bar International bidders if he has that much disdain for us!

Whether it's Kickstarter or not, is it best to release decks on the weekends because most people won't be at work and it may give everybody a better shot than on weekdays?

Hard to generalize. Most white collar employees won't be at work, true, but an ever-larger share of the labor market is in the service industry, where schedules are more irregular.

Just filled out my Backerkit. JR has the "Players Edition" at $8 next to a $12 with a line through it as if he's giving us a deal. And I had to add $2 for shipping. He better pack the 3 decks I'm getting nice and securely for the $6 I'm now paying in shipping.

$10 shipped for a well-designed Tally-Ho deck is a good deal. I won't complain about that.

No, but the crossed out $12 bothered me. Since KWP is doing the shipping that will be the litmus test.
